On the other hand it's quite funny to see some peoples reactions. If you say a clio 182, and they reply with 'Whats that?' Followed by me saying it's a clio with a 2.0l engine in some people are genuinely shocked that a little clio has a decent sized engine.

I think I read on here they were alright for the cost but due to them not being stainless they will rot through quicker. I don't know about noise levels however. If I was in your position and wanted a decent system for cheapest and that is quite, I'd opt for the scorpion system, or hold on and...

Yep, the alternator will be fucked. It happened to mine out of the blue with no warning. It also stunk the car out.

First of all I wouldn't say 2200 isn't that expensive for a 182 but from what you have described it could be a bit more if work needs doing. As for the rattle it could be the dephaser, did you check to see where and by who the belts were done? They are often replaced in the cam belt change also...
