Excellent! Great dry grip and wet grip.
Not stupidly grippy, nice and progressive and can still have fun on them if you want haha!
I saw approx 8k out of the fronts then they were pretty much on the wear markers. Rears still look pretty much like new.
Great value for money in my opinion.
Mine were fine even right on the tread markers but mine wernt AD08s, so maybe my semi slicks are better in the wet.
But yeah, never going to be as good as a normal high performance road tyre but there dry grip makes up for it.
I think t1rs are properly soft. I've ruined them on my older cars in less than 3k miles on the front. They do grip well in the dry but they are seriously soft.
I would just go with the 195/45. Unless your silly low I can't see a reason to go for a lower profile. Plus a properly grippy performance tyre such as the Pirelli won't have as much sidewall flex anyway. I hammered mine constantly and saw 13k out of the fronts plus a full day at a 1/4 mile event.
Vredestein Sportrac 5s, Pirelli Pzero Neros Falken ZE914s in 195/45/16 all fall into your budget mate.
I would be picking between Pirelli and Vredesteins if it was my car. The pirellis are epic. They can take serious abuse!
tbf the cooling on them is awful, but what can you expect when its all compact inside that tiny space. I wouldn't expect to drop much cooler even with new paste.
You can upgrade both cpu and gpu. I have just changed a gpu for a 660 card. Its not as straight forward as a normal computer but in terms of fitting it, it was pretty simple. The drivers are the hardest part as you have to modify the ini files to tell the drivers what card you are actually...
Someones quick comment on Pistonheads who has the Mountune Kit.
"The upgrade was well worth the money, much more low end grunt. It feels far more torquey than before. I spent my afternoon on various country b-roads in Suffolk and the more I drive the car the more I like it. As it stands now...
Just put a 660 graphics card in one of these. Made a good bit of difference to the gaming side of things.
If you have only fitted a normal HDD I would be sacking the optical drive off, buying the adapter off ebay and putting an SSD in its place for the OS. That would increase things massively...
I agree. Can't stand the Skoda one.
My cup one has a slight crack in it where i had it rebuilt with fibreglass so I'm going to get one of the streamline plain ones eventually.
I would like to try a top spec 197/200 but I'd be scared of getting one with a poor engine.
A friend had a 200 and it just didn't feel quick and my 182 had no issues pulling away from it, but mine seems to be a bit of a freak which is what puts me off getting a newer clio.
It seems a lot of that scene like them because they stretch quite easy. And in certain sizes tyres such as conti, mich etc don't exist in the sizes they want ha.
