The same happened with my standard cd player, also skipped over any scratch / fingerprint etc, just put it down to the poor quality of the components used tbh.
Much better with the 9887r, no skipping issues at all :)
I recently ordered a K-tec silenced decat, problem is I didnt realise as I ordered it that I also need the fitting kit to go along with it.
As I dont want to incur more postage charges from K-tec, can this kit be supplied by renault? Any...
Did you manage that yourself? Or did you get it fitted in derby? I'm going to order a silenced decat for the cup tonight, and would like it fitted locally if possible.
Cheers for the advice, managed to get to the menu and switch power ic back on :)
Just need to get the damn thing fitted properly now (i've got a feeling that's gonna be a c*nt of a job lol)
Cheers again
Anthony
Cheers for the replies.
The seller on TA has confirmed your suggestions - the internal amp needs switching back on. I'll give it a go tomorrow :)
Cheers
Anthony
Yes and yes mate.
Thing is, while the ISO harness fitted fine, there were a couple of connector blocks from the main harness which couldnt be connected to the alpine HU, one's red and one's yellow - any ideas? I'll get a photo up of the connecting blocks in question tomorrow.
Many thanks...
I bought an Alpine 9887r HU for my 172 cup tonight, attempted to install it and I have encountered a problem :
The HU powers up fine and reads the CDs no problem, but theres no sound at all?:S
Any obvious oversights i've missed? If not any other suggestions?
Many thanks
Anthony
If you saw the shady service history for my car, you'd think its not had a replacment lol.
Stuck between uprated CAFs / ITG panel / oem airbox / acoustic valve removal, or an ITG maxogen :dapprove:
Damn:dead:
My Cups on 33k and, as far as I know, its still running the original OE panel filter. Time to order an ITG panel filter or ITG maxogen methinks!
Im worried the dephaser on my cup has gone now :(
Idles rough, about 900 but drops every so often, a bit tappety etc, 172 cup on 32k miles :(
Expensive job?
After a bit more research, it seems that neither the '86 nor the '87 have a motorised face, seems a bit of an omission for the price bracket imo:S
Should I consider the Pioneer equivelants?
Cheers for the prompt replies :)
I'm not going for a massive 'install' or anything in the car, just wanted a tidy HU with decent SQ, will have to try these headunits out then
Whilst on topic, when upgrading the front speakers - is it possible to upgrade the midbass and tweeters? Easy job...
Looking to upgrade from the cr*ppy OE headunit in the cup, so have been looking at these two headunits :

Apart from the front interface, what are the...
I highly doubt you can tell a difference.
I'd say it was more a difference in contrast rations / response times / motion capability and calibration.
Save the money, get the cheaper set and wait for teh 2010 sets to come out.
I have a piper system fitted to my 172 cup. for about 2 months now, I have to say im impressed with the quality, finish and sound of it and I'd hope piper 182 systems are of similar good quality:)
Yes, I understand what your saying, the bore difference allows one section to 'slot' over the other :)
Am considering a k-tec sports cat now, saves f*cking about come MOT time, may order tomorrow :)
