Hard to fault them really, great shots. I'm a sucker for out of focus night lights, so the crossing picture is by far my favourite.
Panning shot is brilliant too. Could be worth trying some rear curtain sync for something like that as well, I think I prefer it as a straight panning shot as...
I genuinely don't get the point of them full stop, and more often than not I notice people who I have followed who have been driving really odd have a sat-nav mounted on their dash.
I imagine delivery drivers have a genuine reason for one, but anyone else? I've done loads of long trips this...
This is stopping me selling my old D50, the viewfinder is full of junk and looks pretty awful. I'm not aware of a way of cleaning it without getting a specialist on it.
Congrats to Anim@l for his victory in the last round with his image depicting the theme 'Night'
The next subject, chosen by him is:

They do autofocus, however I've never used it, it's about 50 times easier to manually focus with any macro lens/set-up as the chances of the AF picking up the exact point you want (i.e. spiders eyes) is almost non existent.
Great work, considering you haven't shot much lately you seem to have improved even more, really nice stuff.
How I didn't see you I'll never know, we have some almost identical shots!
Took it for a spin today, not ideal conditions but it's very very promising, sharper at 300mm than my old Nikon 300mm f4 prime, doesn't autofocus quite as quickly as my old 80-200 AF-S but still plenty quick enough to capture cars at 120mph about 20ft away no problem. All in all I think I've...
A few pics from an entertaining day at Combe. Had lots of fun with my new lens, nothing special here as I was getting used to it/learning to use it more than anything else, but I'm loving it already...
More here...
Excellent reviews, thanks chaps.
17" wheels for the Cup pack worry me a little, seem waaaay to excessive, do they offer anything that some nice light 15 or 16" wheels don't? Renaultsport don't seem to be the sort of people to give in to the marketing team, so there must be a reason behind huge...
50mm 1.4 is a 'stop' faster, have a look at the Aperture Priority bit of my guide.
Basically, the lower that f number is, the more expensive a lens is going to be and as a general rule, higher quality. For example, a 70-300 f4-5.6 (meaning it's f4 at 70mm but f5.6 at 300mm) costs around £100...
A Nikon 18-200 is an idea "one size fits all lens", very well reviewed and it's finally widely available.
It costs just over £400, will offer you loads more zoom and VR, but won't give you anything wider than your kit lens.
Nope, any Sigma lens with "HSM" in the title will be fine.
I think it can be seriously overdone, but it works really well in schwep's first picture I think, especially with the taxi turning.
I'm not so keen on the heavily tilted Times Square shot, still a very nice photo though.
btw, that scaffolding has been on the building next to the Flatiron building for about 5 years I think! Everytime we go it's still there...
