i've had it downloaded in SD and HD and the dvd boxset for ages now but I just had to hold out for the ultimate experience and do it on blu-ray.
I am going to have to watch it again now with the picture in picture, anyone watched it using that, is it any good?

All these what camera should I buy are starting to get a bit repetitive now, we should just get a buying guide up or something and point people to that, needs to be someone who knows the canon and nikon range well though and finally direct them to jessops to try...
I got Band of Brothers on Blu-ray for Christmas and I have just finished watching it and OMFG, it is without doubt the best tv series or even film for that matter I have ever seen, it truly is epic and I am actually really disappointed i;ve finished watching it.

exactly, plugging the ps3 into the 1300 gives you dolby true hd and dts hd ma as these are encoded by the ps3 and theres no need for optical, just the one cable.
I'm very impressed with it, great clarity and bass and it has plenty of inputs for other things.
its a dvd system though, wouldn't it be better to go for just a surround system without the dvd. My experience is that the dvd ones are only reaslly designed to play the dvd's internally and have very few input connections from other sources.

i looked at this and the issue i had was that the amp is built into the subwoofer on this, and i hide the sub away from my equipment so it wouldn't work for me.
i have the canon and its very good, after reading reviews i kind of ruled the sigma out, the canon is more expensive but seems to be a lot more consistent, the sigma is one of those where its pot luck as to whether you get a decent one.
I also find that the canon gives very little distortion...
they aren't upscaled, if anything they are downscaled.
The original print they are taken from is normally at a higher resolution than blu-ray is, it just depends on the quality of the original and how well its faired over the years.

i just watched bladerunner final cut on my dad's s350 in dolby true HD 24p on a 40" 1080p and tbh it doesn't get much better than that, picture and sound are sooooo good.
