Try swapping the bulb to a different one and see if the issue occurs, usually in electrical terms it's a dodgy bulb in a house etc. I had a dim glow at night with mine! I spotted this on splitter scuffers with something on the bonnet ;)

I used carpet adhesive glue in a spray can and some cheap faux suede material off eBay that cost about a tenner! I've also done the inner wing mirror covers
