if u read the thread which you clearly haven't, this picture was posted because someone compared my car to an F1 car!! and also said that most cars on track now don't use big wheels. It was to prove a point. When have I ever compared my Clio to a race car, my car doesn't go near a track...

seems strange, these cars are fantastic on fuel love the colour though

so now I better compare my road going Clio to an F1 car........ 17's is hardly 'big wheels' and am I bothered about speed on a road car? nope! also on that front BTCC cars use 18's and the S-2000 use an older 17 inch wheel

I got an e bay 1 for £5 but it takes ages then I found my track bike pump is perfect for the job so I use that now :approve:

I had Falken's on my Clio 16v and it made me think my Clio handled really badly, but it was just the tyres they are marketed as a premium when in actual fact they are a budget :dapprove: and a poor budget at that

I would just go with some springs and maybe some new shocks coilovers need TLC :dapprove:

I remember those days... my 'random' wheels came from Wheelbase, get the correct fitment, offset etc. and Bobs your uncle of course buying random 17's off e bay is asking for trouble

yeah I agree with that just things on CS sometimes get taken as general facts i.e 17's look gash, 17's wont fit, 17's wreck arch liners, 17's are expensive, 17's handle crap etc. of course 17's are 'more likely to rub' yes its common sense. But a normal 1*2 you can lower it and 17's will be fine

17's do not rub if fitted with the correct offset! and do not give a so called 'crashy ride' I do LOL at this if 17's rub on your 1*2 then something is wrong and its not the wheel size....

some people have mentioned the price of 17's I have compared them with the 16's from factory standard using Avon ZZ3(as an example) 17's- 205/40/17- £66 16's- 205/45/16- £81.70

17's go straight on a 1*2 btw :p

how the hell can you say this? you have never driven 1 on 17's (just as I thought!!) come back to me when you know and can back up what you are saying....

So true ^^ There is so much bollox on here from people who have never driven on 17s or maybe seen some chavvy wrong offset wheels on std springs ! I run 17 turinis with Eibachs and also run 16" std wheels on mine 17s are lighter as they are flowformed even lighter th turinis the overall...
