Having just been reading some threads about 1*2's using a bit of oil I've checked mine and it needs topping up. In a couple of weeks I'm planning to do an oil and filter change anyway with some of the Silkolene stuff, but as a top up right now can anyone recommend anything and what do they use -...
Tonight when driving home I was driving my 182 which I've had about a month and after a little bit of frisky driving up the backroads into my village I looked to my dash and the service light was on (on 27,600 miles at the moment) and so too was the traction control light and it's the first time...
Good. Mine had a close call on a narrow road and it's only scraped on the texured plastic part, but I thought I'd replace if one came up anyway.

There's one on eBay, looks about right to me.
There's two or three in a dealer local to me that's been up for between £6.4k and £7.5k and they've not moved at all - and they're in good nick.
At the same dealer I looked at a bit of a dog (loads of stone chips, scuffed alloys, added '182' badge which made me think a youngun had it and four...
Mine was £5.9k (54 plate) with 27k on and six month warranty (private sale, cost me £30 to change the warranty). After looking for the last few months there's no way an 02 172 even with those kind of miles on is worth the money it was up for.
Privately I'd say between £4k and £4.5k - at a...
Think one or more of my rear shocks need replacing (haven't checked yet) and I'm wondering what others can recommend. Prices and recommended places to buy would be good if possible.

Sorry for the thread hijack - but I'm considering putting a decat on my 182 - is it worth it, what potential gains and improvement would I see?
Cheers for any replies fellas.
I know what you're trying to say - but there's no way a 172 with 70k+ on is worth £4500, especially one that needs taxing and another £115 spent on it almost immediately - doesn't mean someone wont pay it though.
Having been shopping around for a 172 or 182 recently there's many dealers with...
It all depends what someone is willing to pay and with those kind of miles I'd be suprised if you got £4k at the moment - it just isn't worth it when you can get ones with more miles on for that kind of amount.
As I've said elsewhere - two brand new Cup ones have sold on ebay over the last week for around £96 plus p+p so it's worthwhile keeping an eye on there.
Have a look on eBay - there's been two new genuine Renault ones on there over the last few weeks that have sold for around £95 plus p&p (including one I've bought).
Sounds a lot for such a small item, but it makes a lot of difference IMO.
And cheers for the replies people - at first I thought I may have been maced on eBay, but it turns out it was the correct one afterall - paid £111 delivered for it and it was brand new if anyone cares.
Yeah realise that after looking at the bottom of the bumper and the screws that are in it.
Got the splitter fitted now, looks ok considering I done it with little space and by myself.
Ah so it's a line it up and screw into the bumper job?
Having looked at the bottom of the bumper I was kinda hoping the screws in the bottom of it would just need to come out and the splitter would have screws in exactly the same places.
