I used to do that, although not as far back towards the seats, got sick of it all coming up by the end of a trackday in the end. Although, maybe my gear was cheap stuff [emoji6]

...I agree, including ongoing maintenance, it's a balance on personal needs and application. I went quaiffe because I wanted a fit and forget solution for the track/occasion competition toy. If i was more focused and had the time, I'd consider a gripper in the future

Now you mention it, what does the cable entry look like from the back of the dial, did you hide it somehow? where did you take your cable through the dash top?
I've been wondering which way to run the cable to the front of the engine too, could you suggest a good route?
