Mine was driver side, did it on full lock both ways. Jack it up, and grab the shaft and tug lol. You soon know if its faulty because it will have play. Passenger side has some (tiny) movement, which is normal, So could compare it to that one.

What discs are they? My mates have groove and drilled discs on their type r's and they squeal really bad. Same as my mate with Mtec grooved ones on his clio. Could be just a build up of dust/dirt.

They are ways s**t to get off. It's nothing to do with wipers, scuttle clip as said I think. I think it's what holds the drivers side down and the wing. Mine is missing, so can't be sure.
