They came up with the idea of welding two V6's together for the Stag and then watched as it promptly blew up!
And now we let them get there hands on...
I parked my VR6 on a carpark last year and went into an office for an interview, came out and drove home, then next morning got up and some c*unt had smashed my front headlight, cost me £130 to replace it as even though only the lens was smashed I had to have a whole light to replace it as they...
I to have sat in a new clio III and I wasn't impressed, I have sort of come to terms with the looks but its just so well...BIG!
Build quality is better which is a plus and I like the front end (not sure I can come to terms with the rear end though) and inside its slightly better (but as I...
All depends what you want, there the same engine same bhp, but quite different in some respects.
My brother for instance likes how my cup looks but likes his leather, ABS, traction control etc etc.
So hes thinking of buying a full fat 172/182 next year when he changes his car.
He can live...
Loving the seats, did you put them in or were they already on the car, I want a set like that for my Cup so if you put them in yourself could you let me know where you got them from and how much they cost?
Yep then put some mobile cameras/speed traps out as the road was now considered an "Accident Black Spot".....
Seriously though I think they were a few d*ckheads, trying to wind you up, M3 was most probably Daddies and the driver was showing off, you come bombing past him in your French...
I'm based in Stoke -On -Trent about 5 miles or so from Hanley, I'm not to far from Biddulph either.
So wherever we decided to meet up it wouldn't be a chore to get there.
A3 Quattro is 180bhp (my brother has one) standard and its nippy but not earth shatteringly quick, the standard Leon Cupra despite having 180bhp is heavy and not a patch on the R version imo.
And the S3 is 225bhp standard not 210, puts out 166bhp per ton to the 172's 156, not a huge amount of...
On paper the S3 has more bhp per ton, is quicker 0-60 by about half a second and has a higher top speed.
Shouldn't be a contest but it would also depend on the driver and the road....
I have heard the mk2 is better, mk1 a bit more wooly and wild, haven't driven either, closest I've come is seeing one at the Motorshow, wouldn't mind a go of one if anyone was to offer me a drive lol
I like the CTR, I looked at a few before I bought my Cup, what put me off was the fact that on any given day I can drive to work (which is 3 miles from where I live) and see half a dozen of them before I pull onto the carpark.
Still a great car though and may end up with one in a couple of...
It used to be Chav Central, until they put in all the speed bumps and got Secruity on McD's and the police started going down there in unmarked police cars.
But even now if you turn right at the roundabout instead of left for the cinema and drive towards Morrisons, you will see your fair share...
Last time I took my car up to fezzy park (other than when I go to the gym) was about 6 years ago when Max Power was up there, watched some knackered Sierra's pop there tyres doing burn outs lol
It is however a good meeting place and a Clio convoy up to Stafford would be a good laugh.
Yes I have been spotted! Good point I will look into aquiring one so as to avoid an embaressing scene lol.
I would be up for a meet, just give me a month or two to get my car how I want it (after seeing some of the pics on here It has a lot to live up to!)
I'd say a dealer would sell it for between 8,500 - 9 grand (I have seen a 53 with 17,000 miles for 8995, he orginaly wanted 9995 for it but no takers, he dropped it by a grand and still no takers lol)
So if your going for a private sale I would say 7,500 to 8grand, personaly I would advertise...
I live near the stoke campus and my brother works for Basset Motorcycles just up the road so I am around that way quite a bit.
If you see a 172 Cup on a 52 plate buzzing about with a stocky skinhead in it give me a beep!:D
I work in a big wholesalers doing sales support and my parking space at work is near the front gates, now even though its well away from the main track that the lorries take to get out there are still some HGV drivers who cut to f**king close.
Some time this afternoon my car must have been a...
I get it on my 172 Cup, If I hammer it, thought at first something was on fire!
It mostly happens to me if the road is wet, I don't think its anything to worry about seeing as quite a few people have the same thing happen to them.
My car has just come through a service and an MOT no problems...
As I said in my post it is SLIGHTLY quicker to 60 by a whole two tenths of a second, and as I also said if you were driving one you probably wouldn't notice the difference;)
I was merely explaining to the bloke who posted in the first place that the two tenths of a second difference was...
Like I said in Performance terms that equals 1 mph on the top speed and a tenth of a second difference 0-60 on the full fat versions.
So to me thats not really making a great deal of difference to performance.
If you look at the performance figures in Parkers guide and Glassy's etc it lists it as being slightly quicker 0-60, its only by something like two tenths of a second so its not like its a huge difference.
Depending on how you drive you I doubt you would tell the difference....
172 cup is quicker than the 182 cup because its lighter, they put the ABS back in the 182 and it has manual air con which makes it heavier and negates the extra 10bhp in the 182.
The extra 10bhp in the 182 doesn't make a lot of difference to the performance, I think the official figures are...
