It's MOT'd but im going to A-frame it down.. The unit rent is due so I have no spare monies to insure it. :(
I got it beached in the Unit car park last night <3.. I will post the video later.
Breaking it for spares tbh ;)
After driving it last night having less power for the time being is a good idea lol. It will now be on show at VWNW this weekend :approve:
As long as the ignition and timing is spot on it "should" stay in one piece". Im more worried about the turbo giving up...
There is a guy on the polo G40 forum who had a similar spec 1.4 ABD (Same carb, cam and turbo) and he had 200+bhp at 1.2 bar.. I will be aiming for 200ish tbh.
A standard R5 GTT carb will take a 1 bar of boost on the standard jetting.. If I go above a bar my mate Rob said he will bore out the jet for me. but I indend to run it at about 10-12 psi to make sure it gets to edition38 then after that the boost is getting wound up, Ive got mates with a Mk1...
I have spent most of my evenings this week in the engine bay finishing off the looms, wrapping and stashing them. This also included relocating the coil and ignition amp to the scuttle tray. To say im glad its over is an understatement but it was deffo worth the hassle.
Good luck with the screen, lots of heat and lube and you should be ok. I will put a 5er on it going in sweet.
Glad I could help you out with a few niggles. It would have all just sat in boxes for years so happy to see you get some use out of them.:approve:
With the helpers it should go more than low enough.
Some pics below of my 13's on my old Mk2.

I think the fronts will be ok.
tbh they will sit no where near your arches, even fully wound down.
He does say in the ad they are perfect fitment for a Mk1.
Savage ET's but I think they could work.. Are your arches rolled?
You will also need alot of lows to pull them off.. but im working on something that will help you with this ;)
Pricey but he is open to offers.
LOL @ the green LED's
My horn stopped working the day after the MOT. The 70's spec wiring doesn't even need water damage to be shite haha
Keep it up, time is ticking away ;)
Why maybe no Mk1 Jason? surely you can nurse it there?
Nice!!! Laura.. There nothing like a deadline to drive you on haha
Yes tonight is cool, I won't be up till about 8ish tho. PM coming your way.
Just under 40 days.. I still worry that mine won't be finished / make it. I hate being a pessimist :( *Note to self break down cover* haha
Go for it!!! your welcome to convoy with us, we will be going down early Friday morning maybe even Thurday night to ensure a good spot.
I did want to...
People hating on how you have built the car who have never built more than a lego car. ROFL!!! Laura puts you boys to shame ;)
I hate thoughs shitty little fuses and the wiring for that matter.
Just going through your wanted list now. :)
I could do with a daily myself jason. Im sick of riding my bike everywhere haha
Im pretty rough from bugjam but I will be up every night this week cracking on so when ever suits you. It gives us chance to dig out the bits from your list Laura. hope your feeling better soon :)
N/W folk are...
What tyres did you go for, they look massive... sorry if its allready been said.
Ah just remembered they are 14".. tyre selection is shite haha
A sidey may give you lots of ground cleance problems once its slammed?
