the ideal time to change is at the point where the power available in the lower gear dorps below the amount that the engine would produce when you change to a higher gear. Obviously some engines you will hit the limiter before this point in which case you rev to the limiter and others you wont...

I saw an Alfa 156 let go once, that made a nice bang, cause, oil starvation on number 4 cylinder..........nice hole in the side of the block too !

it sounds like it could be something as simple as the tyre/wheel rubbing against the trim on the wheel arch.............just wanted to see if it was a common fault before i take it to renault or have a look myself

When i have my steering on lock, usally turning right, infact always turning right, i get a knocking noise from the front left wheel/suspension mounts.......anyone had this before ? is it common ? what causes it ?
and my passenger seat squeaks when no one is sitting in...
coming from a scoob this mpg is like having a couple of k payrise !

Yoz2a - i live in werrington........just bought a cup from william a lewis in shrewsbury.......Holcrofts are shark, wouldnt let them service my scooby either..........we audit them as well.............i will say no more !

I have also owned a scoob and a cup..........if you get chance, try and own both.......not at the same time obviously, but they are both completely different superb cars !
More interested in seeing a torque from a before and after, thats what you feel.
I take it that because they are not supplied by renault they are not warranty approved ?
