Ok will do (y) Oh, was there any reason you suggested an evo sports cat or could you use any? I guess one with the same diameter pipe and a similar size overall would be a start?
Yeah I'm looking forward to the benefits of the 182 mani but not f**king around with the subframe tbh.:ROFLMAO:Think ill just do a load of stuff over one weekend, wishbones, track rod ends, ARB bushes etc and mani all at once.
I'll try and remember to let you know when I have the 172 cat for...
I see there's one on ebay for £500 £££
So this cat below is obviously going to be pretty poor quality at £70 but I could have it modified to fit the 172 cat back which would cost less than a k-tec sports cat..?
Looks like either way im getting a 182 mani on then...
Hi guys,
This has probably been done to death already but Id like some advice & opinions on what I should do in my situation (I'll try and keep if brief).
Clio 172 - 90% track use. Needs to pass MOT and track noise limits. K-tec unsilenced cat back fitted. Cambelt will be due in a few months...
I'm tracking my non cup 172 purely because I grew attached to it and didn't want to sell it
I think the only annoying difference is having to remove the aircon.
If you have the option buy a cup, if not then expect a bit more work :)
Well before it became a track car project 12months was usually; £300 insurance, £250ish tax, £80 service (by me), £100-200 on random repairs/faults. So about £800. Not including new tyres or brakes in that because I had the same set on for about 3 years! And the £500 cambelt hit every 4-5 years...
I had a similar running problem to you and after scanning for fault codes (and finding one) I replaced the injector and it sorted it.
If you haven't already I would scan for fault codes and go from there.
If new plugs, leads and coil pack doesn't fix it then an injector might be the cause. I had a similar issue and it was an injector.
Try and get a fault code reader on it. (Ideally before buying new leads and coilpack :P )
I wish I had a better memory because I had a problem with mine not working and failing an MOT 2 years ago. I THINK they have a separate pump to the windscreen washers so it could be that.
I believe it sprays the headlights separately so left then right and the valve/actuator had failed on mine...
Sounds like a way of making a very easy job much more annoying for no reason? The sup plugs seem pretty robust.
The gearbox oil is difficult enough lol.
Yeah, I think I'm going to be contacting Mark Fish for alignment/suspension setup soon ish so I'll have them look at the lights/fault codes then.
Today - Carbon canister and acoustic valve removed, made a bracket to move one of the horns out the way to fit cooling ducts.
I replaced my squib (broke the prev one) and fitted resistors to my airbag plugs but I still have serv and airbag light on. Jus gona have to get it programmed out...
This pretty much sums up my experience of a BMW night I went to a while ago (not with my car).
Interested to see what a clio/renault night would be like. My boss said the Porsche ones are pretty civilised.
