Be interesting to see if there would be anything to gain with my extra length RS2 using MWM's timing tweak.......Still undecided whether to keep, sell or break...
The mods dont like it....Advertise as if its your own. If people show interest explain you're advertising for a friend in PM and forward Daniel's number ;)
The STI used them up to V7 although they are not like aftermarket forged pistons. From V8 they change to a hypereutectic piston on the 2.0 which run a tighter tolerance.....My old forged built Subaru engined sounded like a diesel until it warmed up.
How strange, Ive never seen DS2500's do that.....Ive been using them for years in my Imprezas and Evo's both on road and track, they have always performed well and given good life.
If anyone is interested, a friend of mine is putting up his 2.1 stroker Type R fo sale. Running the S206 turbo setup from EngineTuner and Alcatek ECU.....With a splash of meths it makes just over 500bhp, he is looking for 8k.
I can aprreciate the work gone into that car but I really dont see the point in a H6 conversion and no boost.....As pointless as swapping everything from a WRX into an N/A Impreza IMO.
To be fair you won't go wrong with the usual suspects, RCM, API, Engine Tuner, Scooby Clinic for tuning. They are basically one stop shops for everything(rebuilds, mapping servicing etc etc.) Ive never had any work done by Len at S4U but know people who have and they speak very highly of him...
A V3 Type R......TBh you won't go wrong with any Type R. The V3 retains the early dash(which personally i prefer) where as from the V4 on, got the facelift dash.
The only thing about the V3(with R180 diff) is the rear brake setup. It consists of a solid rear disc and a sliding caliper which was...
Basically what trails said......Some people just fit any old Impreza engine thinking one size fits all.
As Ive mentioned before Imprezas really are a mine field hence why so many new owners get caught out, thinking they've boughy one model when in fact it doesnt turn out to be what they thought...
Looks nice apart from the BK wheels.....The car is a Version 5 Limited and not a V-Limited as advertised a mistake many make. The only thing that worries me about Classic STI's that have had an engine change is, does it still have the STI heads/cams fitted which is a big factor with their...
I'd be willing to bet my house that wagon is nowhere near 380bhp! Be lucky if its anywhere near 300....The advert is full of the usual ebay crap as well as being a V2 not a V3.
What year Impreza is it? The later VF series Turbo(VF30-on)can cope a lot better than the earlier VF turbos with no DV...... TD04/05's are hard as nails and laugh in the face of no DV's...! Lol
This looks reasonably priced.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/P-reg-subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-v3-genuine-sti-89-000-miles-fsh-only-1-owner-/111227819361?hash=item19e5b1d561
Nice fella, its lacking the STI wing badges so the engine was the money shot for it being a genuine STI......Getting rare these especially in red, most are silver..
I think first you need to decide what you want to use the car for....Day to day driving, track use or occasional use for me that really dictates which model is best to go for..
