Batesey's 172 cup turbo
Right so i've bought a daily runner so i can spend a bit of time on the clio over the winter, got a few plans so hopefully it will all come together :)
Heater box arrived today to make room under the scuttle panel to relocate more things :)
I also bought a new bottom...
Right!! I've heard a few rumours that the rs2 inlet won't work with boost but I can't see why? Only thing I feel the problems would be is keeping the sensors in and that can't be hard to overcome?
Has anyone ever tried it?
I like the idea of it to be honest and want to see if anyone has any...
Im running a gt2871 and have problems with the downpipe, mine was built on a t28 so im guessing the bigger turbo alters its position, you know the plans with mine ;) plenum looks good though chap, guna be a quick car
Re: Bateseys 172..
Right haven't updated for a while but lots of ups and downs with the cup, ups will become apparent In a couple months And downs being I had a fight with a post and need my boot and Bumper reprinting LOL
So she got a small pic in PFC..
Decided to buy some paint off eBay and...
Just extended the ecu wiring and fusebox wiring and ran it through the bulkhead, I re ran a few wires beforehand but nothing major, he re did the injector loom as it looks crap along the top as they come from the factory,
Thanks for the comments guys :) few bits I wana clean up though but I...
Just a modified loom , standard ecu and fuse box is inside behind the dash mate, then the adaptronic ecu in glove box, scoff did it for me :) makes it so much cleaner
Personally its a no brainer, go adaptronic ecu mate, scoff knows his stuff and hes very reasonable, his service is 2nd to none, or go to Ktec who will be more expensive after mapping i'd of thought, also lately people have had problems which their mapping to put it politely
Ph1 fuel setup has a regulator in the rail and has a return back to the tank, IMO go for omex if you want cheap, these can be found in eBay 2nd hand and everywhere can map it, it's a bit dated but still works,
I run adaptronic and its pretty good IMO but again I'm limited to who can map it
You don't need a map sensor if your new ecu has one built in,
for over 260 I'd change conrods, pistons are pretty good upto 300+ ,
lower the CR with a thicker head gasket, run a ph1 fuel setup IMO
obviously if you want over 300bhp forged pistons are the way to go for reliability
172 cup turbo
Best: Looks, Boost, Noise of chatter
Worst: Smell, downpipe touches gear linkage
My mates supposed to be modifiying it when we both get a minute though
I plan on putting megane rods in and lowering the CR by using an engine dynamics head gasket, Scoff took a standard bottom end with a decomp plate to 450bhp so im pretty confident the standard engine/pistons is strong enough for 260ish reliably with a lower CR?
