Try running a cold air feed straight from the front grille.
Then fit a performance filter. Much cheaper than an induction kit, forced air induction (well, almost) due to the air flow when travelling at speed, and minimal restrictions. Another bonus is induction kits will definately gulop in...
Simon will it work on the older models? Mines a 1.4RT L reg.
I tried it, but havent thrashed it yet. It must have acquired a load of errors over 67k miles!
Fellas, thats just what Ive done. I changed the standard pipe so that it comes straight from the front grill to the airbox, and fitted a green air filter. Total modification cost £40, and its given MUCH better acceleration above 20mph! Off the start its not much difference, but theres a...

Wheels make a helluva lotta difference dont they?
Im running 16s with 195/45s, standard engine but green filter.
The best Ive got is 11 or so secs. Oh dear. NOS here I come....
Yes I fitted the metal ones, and I also fitted some flashing LEDs to them (not red ones )
The pins werent so hard gettin em on, but taking the old ones off was near impossible! I managed to snap the passender one off, but the drivers one I had to burn off!
But they look great when theyre...
I took em easy for 500 miles like I was told. After bout 3000 the braking effect started wearing off. Ive now done 4600 on them, and theyre almost completely worn and I havent used them on track days or anything hard. Im well disappointed with them. It currently takes ages to stop now, so Ive...

My Dad supplies the Aluminium to make them, and is good friends with the guys at Genesis. Discounts methinks....
IF it were a possibility, how many ppl would be willing to purchase at a slightly lower-than-retail price?
Bearing in mind theyre normally suited to toffs in bmws and porsches!
James, have you got the neon working on its own?
Thats probably the problem, one of mine blew as I wired it up with the old lamp still in it!
Needed a new transformer....
I know everyone talks about NOS all the time and I should be able to find the answer if I search hard, although I cant see it that easily....
Is it OK to put NOS in a completely normal 1.4?
I havent got induction kit or zorst, but I was wondering if it would kill the engine due to the much...
I know exactly what you all mean
I THINK (Im only a beginner mechanic) its the rear shocks and torsion bar. Imnot daring enough to do anything to the torsion bar but having it on ramps and jacks and hitting it produces the same sorts of sounds.
Also, do you ever get creaks when putting the...
Does anyone know the legal status of coloured bulbs?
I saw a saxo with blue flashing side repeaters, same on the rear (although he had orange up front.)
It looked really great - so how would I stand?
(Bearing in mind I picked up a fine on Sat nite for having neons! )
Dont you mean the other way round Nick? The accelerator was the easiest!
I bought some nice ally pedals from some dodgy geeza down Southend on Sat nite. Theyre £15 in Halfords, but i got em for a tenner.
I drilled a hole in the clutch, one in the brake, and three really easily on the...
