painting the bullet lettering is pretty easy with a steady hand although i have heard of some people putting blu-tac round theirs to stop paint seepage/runs then removing it when dry....seems a bit too fiddly imo

Renault UK have never issued a recall on bonnet catches, according to the manager i spoke to the research they carried out on the bonnet catches did not warrant recall, and he stated VOSA agreed with Renault re this. Because i maintained my car outwith Renault dealerships, according to the guy...

no they replace the catch. I never had a letter/phonecall or anything either, and im just one of the unlucky ones i suppose - but im glad its highlighting it for others so they dont have to go through this!

well at least others getting theirs done following this thread makes it worthwhile! Funnily enough, Renault UK never phoned back, gonna harass them again in morning, if they think im gonna give up they've another think coming!

Rob, im in the same boat, which is why i used independent garages. Waiting on Renault UK to call me back....

lesson learned the hard way unfortunately. Ive paperwork from prev owner from Renault garage and nothing noted on it about bonnet catch/recall.

mine hadn't been done, dealer confirmed. Onto Renault UK now to see why I was never informed of the recall.... not much use now that the catch failed - but if it saves anyone else having the catch go and the hassle of sorting it, im happy :)

I love the look of them from the front and back - but side on they are horrid IMO. As others have said, would look much better if it were lower and had wider arches. Haven't seen one in the flesh yet though, hopefully I'll be converted into fully liking/loving it as theyre well specced (sp)
