I know about turing the ignition on and off so you can leave the windows open, but the open bonnet still sets the alarm off.

Can you get it to work without the use of the remote key on a 172/182? I want to lock the car and leave the bonnet open, but not arm the alarm. If you use the passenger side lock, it just locks the passnger side.

Not when we're sitting in leather comfort at a chilly 16c, when those unfortunate cup drivers have to have their windows down to get it cooler than 30c as the sun beats through their non reflective screen ;) Cups are by far the best out the bunch, if you use its abilities.

89k is a huge amount. Even if the wheel, AC system, slightly lighter speedlines and glass weighed 50kg, the interior trimmings aren't 40kgs.

I bought a cheap innertube from halfords, cut it to size and pushed it between the dash and screen, stopped the noise i had that sounds like the one you've described.
