    Trade in price for Imports

There will be a difference, dealers get you one way or another! They know you will have paid less therefore, they give less! Simple really!! Twit

    Cup Different ECU

My take on this is there is something different in the Cup, you only have to drive one to tell that. However, the major point that is not spoken about much is the suspension /steering, that IS different to the 172 and makes the Cup feel like a different animal. It roles less, turns in quicker...

    on the hunt

On the FTO front I used to own a manual GPX, the fastest you can buy etc etc... Biggest pile of poo I have ever owned, truly terrible car. Looked OK but sent you to sleep driving it and really not that fast. Mine was about 7 ish 0-60 and was pushing 190 BHP.... God Im boring myself writing...

    Cup Upgrades

If this turns out to be the case Ill be a bit pi$$ed off. One of the reasons for buying the Cup was the range of track options in production. Renault has once again shat on its customers, they did it with the first generation williams (and paid for it), I know of Mk1 V6 owners who ordered the...

Pics of Modded 106 GTi - Opinions

I agree with Rich-D the badge makes a big difference. I prefer Rich-Ds of the two. It is modern but maintains the original look. And, no I dont think the 106 looks Max Power in standard form, I much prefer the standard form when compared to the original posting! Im all for debate though! Twit

Pics of Modded 106 GTi - Opinions

I find it so hard to believe people think cars look better in standard form.. Maybe Im on the wrong forum or something Thats what makes forums interesting, diverse opinion. Im probably older than the target audience for such a car! :) Its just not my thing, I prefer the standard look and any...

Er OK... Not my thing, I think it looks to Max power! The 106 looks better in standard trim and I dont like the colour. Twit

    Slow CUP!!

I use optimax of just standard Super UL. I seem to get better running on standard UL, it always feels sluggish on the Shell stuff, though I do tend to get better MPG... That said I normally get 35 - 36 MPG anyway, not bad for a Cup, it only dropped to below 30 on the track. Twit

    Sports Seats for the Cup

There have been quite a number of posts about these.... I tried to order my Cup with them but they did not exist, I would not be surprised if the extras never really materialise.... Twit

    Trackdays

Yeah fairly. It was the first time I have taken the cup though. I was not planning to go again until the summer but could be persuaded! I really like the indy circuit as it suits smaller cars, handling being far more important than outright speed. That said I was talking to one of the...

    Trackdays

I took my Cup to Brands (indy track) last Friday and it performed really well - a tad outgunned on the straights but round the corners, especially Paddock, it did well! Ill be up for another but would prefer well organised ones, often these are more expensive but they attract a good range of...

    CLIO CUP

Forget the Civic Type R, looks to much like a bus, if you can do the insurance what about a track biased new shape integra type R? You can see on one http://www.litchfieldimports.co.ukwww.litchfieldimports.co.uk That would be cool and you wont see one anywhere else! What has been said about...

    CLIO CUP

Depends what 306 you have got... Ive had my Cup a while now and I really like it, but if you have a GTI6, or such like, whilst the Cup may initially seem quicker (if it is a GTI6 this will be/feel marginal) to get a real boost you need to go up a class or two. I came down a class to a hatch...

    Focus RS Vs CUP

I have driven both the Cup and the RS and could afford both but own a Cup which says soemthing. The Focus is faster no doubt. But it is very difficult to drive the Focus at more than 70% on most roads because the handling is just strange. Ford have given it to much grip through the diff so...

    Buying : Cup or 172

On the subject of finance... Dont go with renault/options etc the APR is normally massive and you are effectively tied to Renault at the end of the term with the balloon payment. If you cant pay cash get a normal loan, you can get a much better APR and a few places do these balloon style things...

    Anyone raced a VW Golf V6 4Motion

Ha ha, funnily enough last weekend! I was not surprised but he was!! ;) They are pretty poor cars really though, very very heavy! Even my mate who is a director at a VW main dealer cant find anything decent to say about them! The R32 could be a challenge through!

    Whos just watched BBC2

Someone reckoned she got a bad deal on the Cup I thought it was pretty good cos, It was filmed in the Summer, the Cup was just out and there was not much discounting going on and she got a fanatstic price for that heap she was trading. You wont get many dealers that over value trade ins and...

    clutch in cup!!! :( gulp!

That does sound like a slipping clutch! Scary!! If it were mine I would take it back to the dealer and let them look at it. If they diagnose the clutch ask them to explain it fully and then be ready to fight. Im sure they would say where and tear but three months is a tad extreme, you would...

Cars u test drove b4 buying ur current

Elise S1, great car just not practical enough in the job I do... Elise S2, better than an S1 but again not practical enough TVR Chimeara 5.0, prcatical enough, easily affordable but running a 5 litre engine everyday round town would not a huge laugh! Alfa 147, if the GTA had been launched...

    Broken Cup :(

Mine torque steers, all part the fun! I do make sure the wheels are straight before complely booting it though! 17" may lesson the torque steer but it would increase bump steer I would think and it may lose some of its smoothness on the right roads. Also, renaultsport spent a while developing...

    New cup owner!

Thats a cracking price to start with, you could be looking at 11k with luck! I do feel a bit sorry for anyone who has had to go down the loan/finance route to buy one, Renault seem a bit keen to discount them to sell them. You never make any money buying a car but 2k off only a few months into...

    Just Picked up my CUP

My dealer actually seems OK. The car had the splitter when I picked it up and badges where they should be! That said it is going back tomorrow to have a suspension knock looked at and a few other things so I shall wait and see! When I ordered it they new all about it, and found a Cup in the...
