Slightly unrelated, I have a 172 Cup with rattling baffles but its running a K-tec stealth exhaust (think a speed bump clumped the center box). I'm looking at replacing the centre box for around £160 (waiting to hear back from them). I think a lot of RSs tend to go down with standard exhaust...

Was thinking of painting mine......blue cup......was thinking yellow, and do the 2.0 16v bullets yellow too with silver lettering and black outlines. Also got myself some (yellow and white) star outline vinyls on ebay (70mm and 40mm) to put a few on the rear quarters to balance the colour...

Mine did this after the car stood for 3 weeks while I was away abroad with work. First time I drove it after getting home about 3 min into my journey light came on, limited to 3k so pulled in to a side road, switched everything off, sat for a minute, started back up and has been fine ever since...

Lol The exhaust is as far as i know an aftermarket job, but not a shiny stick out the bumper kind, sits nicely inside the bumper, and the rattle I have now is a BAD BAD BAD noise compared to the noise I usually have! :S

Which gasket do you mean, the manifold? all other joints are overlap fits with jubilees.....?!

My rear exhaust mount is perished, and had always made a small amount of knocking when cold......as soon as it was warm no noise! Maybe its really died and the exhaust is whipping about a little too much! Any idea how much I'm looking at for a mount? Cheers

Having a lot of resonating noise from my exhaust, mainly between 2 and 4k in all gears. I have heard of the centre section going on Cups however everything from the cat back if fairly new. The cat itself looks corroded so my thoughts are its that that is the main offender. Do these break...
