I swung by the O2 shop on Cheapside this morning for giggles, the queue was massive! Lots of poeple giving out food and drinks, surprised if they had that much stock really, must have been 200+ people.
Re: iPhone 4/iOS4 Info (Read this before starting more threads)
Meh, got a 3GS at launch.
When they lauch the 4, o2 will either let me upgrade, which I will do, or if they dont, I wont. I like the 4, but I aint paying uber moneys for it.
I would look at the second hand market as well. I recently upgraded from a 350D to a 40D which was £400 second hand body only, gives you £100 to spend on lenses, 50mm 1.8 is a great prime lens, see revels photos for depth of field tricks and low light stuff. I use talk photography forum which...
I got a Siggy 10-20 a few weeks ago, it's bloody marvellous. Heard that the f4 is sharper than the f3.5, cheaper too.
Found it cheapest at HDEW, grey import but for £275 I wasnt complaining since they go for £300 second hand, £400 new.
Re: iPhone 4G (No longer rumours)
Letter is fake as. "Please let me know where to pick up the unit."
Lawyers don't speak like that, and letters like that come from lawyers...
Cheap, big screen for image editing, powerful enough to do some image editing on RAW files. Bit of basic surfing/downloading.
Is this any good?? http://www.dabs.com/products/acer-refurb-aspire-8730zg-pdc-3gb-250gb-18-4--vhp-6KFH.html?refs=51220000

Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Worldmate!
If you do a load of travelling it's the handiest app ever! Just forward all your travel confirmation emails, they build your itinerary with all the booking refs etc.
(Also on failberry)
No flash, no camera, no multitask, 64GB, no fit in my pocket, big bezel: no likey.
You still need a Laptop/PC, you still need a phone. I have these (3GS 32GB) and seem happy enough.
I'm sure flash will come as will multitask but these should have really been out the box.

Seems fairly cheap for a decent zoom.
I think the Tamron and the Canon are quite similar in optic quality but the Canon has the USM which is useful. Might have to find a nice shop and play, then buy online for cheap.
The Sigma would be nice but it's an extra £50 which will almost pay for a 50/f.18, which I am also tempted by...
Looking for a budget telephoto for everyday and as a bit more range than my kit lens for going on Safari in Kenya soon.
Using on a 350D at the moment but may upgrade soon.
So, which one? Both Canon and Tamron are £130ish then the Sigma is a bit more and I have heard it's better but how much...
I use ooTunes which is a pretty good radio streaming app, there are usually a few feeds at different bitrates. Not tried it on a dock for sound quality though.
Very handy when youre overseas as you can stream BBC Radio which is what I mostly uise it for.
3GS 16GB P&G/Simplicity £440.40 + 24*£19.58 = £910.32
3GS 16GB 24m £87.11 + 24*£34.26 = £909.35
3GS 16GB 36m £184.98 +24*£34.26 = £1007.22
My gf is after one so looked at through life costs, base of 24 months to make them comparable.
Taking a P&G and Simplicity is quite cheap considering...
Change your O2 contract onto Simplicity on the day it expires then its the same rolling contract, just cheaper. I did that earlier this year to get me to the 19th June, which was officially iPhone day for me.
Got this yesterday and tried hooking it up to my telly with a component cable. Turns out Sky took that bit out so it cant be done, unless anyone knows how.
Works with everything else which is a pain.
Has anyone tried this yet?
I dont need the unlock but I am tempted to to Jailbreak for the first time.
What's the deal with the Tethered jailbreak and not letting your battery go flat??
Re: iPhone "must have" apps?
Bought Co-Pilot NA for america last week, bargain for £20.99. Worked perfectly.
Might get it for hte UK now although I do have a tomtom 1 v3. Getting old now, so time for an update.
