yeah thats what happened to mine it would look as if there is no hard drive in the computer.install dell media direct as that creates the partitions the pc needs then install vista then when it asks where to install you will have a partion called os install it there and ignore the others.thats...

its probably because the dell media direct partition got erased same thing happend to me when i tried to delete unused partions on the hdd it messes up the boot.ini and refuses to boot windows just reinstall the dell media direct with the cd that came with the pc and all should be fine.

as they said get the £399 as i got that one last year although when i got it it only had 2gb ram and 120gb hdd but apart from that its the same and photoshop runs fine on it not slow to me either.i have not had anything ive installed that runs slow yet so i would recomend this laptop.

Try using your brothers key it might accept it.You could also download a crack for your version for full version.microsoft will charge you for a new key otherwise.pm me if you need a crack as i have one if you need it ;)

dvd decrypter tells you what your media is if you put it in iso write mode i use it all the time i usually get ritek g05 dye but at mo got TYG02 as they where cheaper then my usual dvd's £8 for a 50 pk at the ash com fair
