£18 ish from Renault £21 is inc vat. Had to buy one the other day. Think you can only get them from Renault. And wait for the confusion on the end of the phone when you ring up and ask for a throttle cable for a 172 :rasp:
The stuff I have, The hafords advanced doesn't say a type but says it meets the requirements of renault 41-01-001, which i assume is theie spec for coolant. Will it hurt it if i put the wrong type in?
My Coolant was getting a little low, Only like half way between max and min, nothing drastic so thought i'd top it up. Brought some pre mixed stuff from halfords. However went to do it and the stuff in there is blue and this new stuff in red. Will it hurt mixig it or does the colour signify...
Easy enough to measure the wall thickness with a mic. The casting will have a fairly uniform thickness and is probably about 3mm or so. Most stuff we cast is about 3mm wall section. The only way you will find out without measuring it is if someone has a working drawing for it which would be...
Cheers, thought so as my old fiesta had stupid little washer things to do the same job. After you'd taken them off once and put them back on you might as well have stuck them on with chocolate! All sorted now and new discs on. Still get slight steering vibration which i thought was being caused...
Am I right in thinking the 2 screws that retain the brake disc are purely there to stop it falling off when you take the wheel off and under driving conditions the disc is secured by the 4 wheel bolts? I am changing my front discs and one of the screws isn't moving for love nor money so i'm...
Yep have the alloy bonnet and shift light. :approve:
Is it just me or is the shift light sh*te! Its behind the steering wheel so had to lean down to see it. Then again maybe it's just cos i'm a short ar$e!
Good plan batman! I blame being at work at stupid times! You'd think working with aluminum all day i would have thought of that myself :o
Shift light shall be investigated...
How do you tell if you've got an alloy bonnet? And don't say it's lighter than the steel one as I have nothing to compare it too! Also where abouts on the dash is the shift light if you've got one? Don't think I have cos i've never noticed it.
Damn cheap compared to what some of them have been going for recently! I'm toying with getting a set for mine but sod paying more than £25 for a couple of lumps of plastic!
Right,
What is the difference between Titanium Silver Ph1 172's with silver door trims and ones with black ones. I don't mean where people have added Ph2 side strips. I have seen some as standard with black, but mine has silver as standard apart from the 2.0 badge. Does it signify a diferent...
Yes I live in Higham. I'm easy to spot as I have scottish flags on my number plates, which must be the only one in this part of Northants. Also got Satin Black Ph2 alloys on at the mo. Can't remember seeing a Black Ph1 but i'm in a world of my own half the time :P
Spotted a silver 182 I think, in Higham Ferrers, High Street this evening and a Back 1*2 in Northampton this afternoon, number plate *** KEV I think.
Anyone on here?
Feel for you there fella. Did exactly the same a few weeks back and some chav helped themselves to my Sony head unit. Wasn't an expensive one so not too bad and only myself to blame really. The standard tape player is back in now so at least it doesn't attract atttention! No damage to anything...
Lol well probably. Only thing I have in mind atm is a wheel refurb in anthracite or black. Something that doesn't show the muck as much!
Can't afford to do too much atm!
New to the forum and club Just brought a year 2000 Silver RS 172. Bit of a step up from my old 1.25 Fiesta. Pretty standard atm apart from a stainless exhaust and will probably stay that way, apart from a few minor tweaks. Just gonna tidy her up a bit, although shes not in bad nick as she...
Anyone know if the flange of a later 172 / 182 will fit on a Mk2 Ph1 172. I know I cannot change the whole hub over because of the shock spacings, but will the flange fit if I swapped over that?
Cheers, Gav
Hi,
Just a quick question regarding hub flanges. I've broken one of the wheel bolts in my hub flange. Tried a stud extractor and it's not moving. I have two options now. I either strip it all down, take it into work, and machine it out, which is a bit of a ball ache or I replace the hub flange...
