Neil, there is a big difference in what the stealers will offer and what the car is actually worth. No doubt about it your dads car would have been on the forecourt for £11500 if not more. Surely your dad was not silly enough to let it go for that:o
Selling privately and buying privately is...
It has shorter gearing than the P1 so is far more brutal when accelerating, intercooler waterspray and switchable diff. The panels are lightweight and it doesnt have ABS. I believe you can switch upto 80-20 to rear wheels. The gear throw is also incredibly short! Its an impressive car and is by...
Youd have to be off your head to spend £16000 on a 6 yr old 1st generation impreza IMO. Ive read quite a few stories on SN reference the P1 and it is certainly not uncommon to expect an engine/gearbox rebuild around the 50000 mile marker. The impreza image has gone right down hill since the...
The 10% rule only really applies up until around 40mph. After that it decreases quite a bit.
I had 160 on clock and 152 on GPS so its no-where near a 10% error, more like 5% at higher speeds and 10% at slower speeds.
100mph would be 90mph for instance which is a lot of rubbish, no speedo...
£330 in halfords.
If not then try Argos.
If buying off ebay make sure you know the serial number beforehand and phone blackspot to make sure it is not a stolen/broken unit.
If its boxed/sealed and unregistered then ebay is probably your best bet.
Some people seem to be forgetting this^^^The money spent is not just on a bodykit!
A good set of wheels costs around £1000. A Full respray costs around £2000-£2500.
What colour is the end product going to be?
Surely the only way to do it is match the engine codes.
Look at the V5 logbook of both cars. If the first 3-4 letters match up with 1 another the engines are exactly the same.
There may be another way of checking but this is what i would do.

I think the tailpipe looks too much like an ordinary peashooter. It certainly doesnt make the car look sporty.
I do however love the wheels. A bit small but white is nice on a blue car:cool:
Iain, Neil and chriss clios are modded and stripped down to the skin and running on petrol fumes.
I think theres a bit of a difference!! Not saying a clio is not capable of 14.1, i am saying it is not capable of 14.1 in standard trim!
I believe the time will be around 17-17.5secs!
Im sorry but why the need for the 2.0 and sport badges?
WHY???
That is the worst mod you could do to any car! The chavs in there novas have now beaten and raped a 172 clio!!
Why make something look like its not:confused::confused:
I agreed with the WRX mate. I just couldnt agree with a 280bhp impreza.
Stats normally tell the truth and are just a bench mark on how a car performs! Like has been said both cars have very similar mid range performance so its down to the driver at the end of the day
Yeah but they are a lot lighter than todays versions.
Theyre probably around the same performance 210 of yesterday vs 225 of today due to the extra weight.
Once rolling 4wd transmission losses dont help its mid range hence why a clio will stick to it. Mod them though and a clio is a small...
What figures and where from?
Perhaps the bugeye, but not the newage or old classic models. The stats from Evo and autocar have already been posted in this thread.
The wrx is not slower at all, not from any speed! theyre very close but the scoob edges it.
Its been said a thousand times, its...
