Moo my old fruit,
get yourself down to a train station with a pair of crimpers and some wire and ask to go NORTH
i'll meet you at leeds ;)
i checked continuity there and got 001 (thats what i remember anyway)
im going to be alot more methodical about it now, going to write down...
right after tonights efforts.....
basically we turned ignition on and could hear relay click etc etc, cranking then gives no voltage to the coil pack or fuel pump
i then moved the ecu from laying down on the battery tray to sitting vertical (i mainly did this so i could see the numbers on...
all to the ecu yeh?
does the ignition live for the ecu go back to the fuel pump relay? replace it just from the relay to ecu? or back to the fuse box aswell (2 yellow ignition lives come out of the same relay connection dont they)
i wonder if it could be an earth problem then, a mate of mine...
yep primes no problem
mine did the exact same thing as foxy's wouldnt start and then the fuel pump relay clicked twice and it fired up
then drove it about 2 miles to the petrol station, wouldnt start again, and no matter what i tried it wouldnt fire up again
so frustrating :(
im putting some hours in tonight to try a few things
going to start by checking the ecu has ignition live when cranking and go from there
then going to check continuity along all the relevant wires and see if i get any bogus reading
even though i am seriously annoyed with it at the minute, one thing i love about this car is the attention it gets
i had to sit in the petrol station forecourt for hours trying to get it started, and there were alot of waves, thumbs up and smiles from various people. a biker offered to...
not sure how true it is, but i have heard about sports cat failing mot's through not meeting emissions requirements
just bear in mind i think most sports cats (and cats in general) need to be mighty warm to work efficiently
doesnt really answer your question :o but thought it was something...
hang on a minute
as i said that 'fuse' is on the starter cable, so you dont want to be routing that to the back of the car
all ive done is route a cable from the battery positive in the boot to a terminal (can buy them from demon tweeks) on the passenger strut turret, then connect all wires...
its on the starter cable isn't it?
me and a sparky mate were having this discussion the other day
he thought it might be some sort of thermal 'fuse'?? but that's just a guess lol
is there an easy way to tell if they are in there?
its either that or my fuel guage is on the blink
put a 5l jerry can in the other day and it went up to around 1/4 of a tank
then put another £15 in and it went beyond 3/4 full :S
