Any chance you could post the parts list for this brake setup?

    insurance refunds?

£360 isn't too bad (without knowing what kind of car we're talking about). Depends on the insurer - I've been with some who don't mind multi-car policies and others that just won't touch them. Another option to investigate is temporary insurance. My insurer will let me insure a second car...

    172cup, what's going on?

I wouldn't say my cup experienced this at all. However my previous car was a 90s Fiesta RS Turbo - now that was (fun) hard work to drive!

    Importance of Service History

What are peoples thoughts on the importance of service history? I'm quite tempted to do the basic servicing myself, oil change, air filter, spark plugs ,etc... It seems crazy to spend all that money on getting someone else to do these jobs just for a stamp. I would then keep every single...

    Bog standard Castrol GTX

Looking a the standards on Castrol GTX (bog standard stuff not magnatec) it seems to meet the required A3 standard. But as far as I'm aware it's a semi-synthetic. Since it meets the standard, any reason not to use it in a 172 cup? It's about 1/4 the price of fully synthetic so my plan would...
