The plate issue sound like a cherished transfer (private plate). I'd say that who ever had the car in the past put their plate on it and when they sold the car (bought a new one) the plate was transfered so when they took finance out on the new car it was recorded against the plate that they...
Could be the post code he lives in as this affects the cost of insurance more than people realise. For example if he lives in an area where car crime is very low (say in the countryside) and you live in an area where it's high (say in a city/large town) this will bring his insurance in at a...
Other cars and their in the area have no impact on insurance though £1,000 for your self seems pretty reasonable but were getting side tracked on this insurance thing.
.
Buying a car and running a car are two completely different things. General running costs on something like a 197/200 will...
Noise limits, the killer of modern race tracks. Would love to do a few trackdays in England (only ever done Donnington Park over there) but I do them all the time here in Northern Ireland or at least I did as I just got rid of my track car. Doubt may performance cars would be less than 90db...
Get my Clio RS200 on Monday or Tuesday (it's at the dealers but they have to let me know when it's ready for collection) and the first thing I will be doing is changing the bulbs as I do a lot of driving at night. From what I can work out the dipped beam bulbs are H1 bulbs but I've no idea on...
My focus st (about to change to Clio RS 200) runs 225/40R 18 on a daily basis and the spare is a 155/70R 16.
Forgot to ask why the part worns? You can get brand new Toyo Proxes T1Rs for £47.50 each from Camskill. They as a new tyre will have about 8mm of tread (so 6.5mm useable) compared to a...
I'm sure the likes of power flex will do a fancy poly one in bright purple or an equally bright colour but you'll pay for them. Renault or a scrap yard will be you best bet for a reasonably priced part.
Also welcome to the forum.
True but Wolfs is very easy to use esp if you use their Shine and Seal polish. Simply wash, decontamination stage (tar remover, fallout remover and clay if you need), wash again, dry, polish with shine and seal then seal with hard body.
The likes of G/techniq and Concours Car Care are a lot...
As stated the legal minimum is 1.6mm across the central 3/4 of the tyre but grip is significantly reduced when the tread is below 3mm. The small bumps (or tread wear indicators to give them their proper title) are as the name suggests only indicators and are roughly 1.7-1.9mm in height depending...
Suspension, steering, colour of the brakes, plastic trim (it's not colour coded on the cup), interior dash plastics (cheaper and lighter on the cup), lack of auto headlights and wipers on the cup, no keyless entry on the cup, and that's only what I can think off from the top of my head...
I'd be looking towards Wolfs Chemicals and their new Hard Body sealant. It offers a lot more than the lines of Werksatt or CarLack and is a doddle to apply. If used with their Shine & Seal paint cleaner polish it gives a fantastic, ultra durable coating.
If your going to buy something specifically for the job I'd recommend G/techniq C1.5. It's not to expensive and 1
coat should see you right for 6 months, it's also stupidly easy to apply with loads of added gloss.
Ex-p gets a good rep as well but durability is an issue can't comment on the...
I wouldn't be overly worried about the overspray. Clay (something like Bilt Hamber regular) should remove it or of you have access to a Dual Action (DA) polisher the Meguiars microfibre system cut pad and polish will remove it with ease along with the swirls and very light scratches.
The...
Have a look on www.cleanyourcar.co.uk and some of their DAS6 pro kits. The DAS6 pro is a top bit of kit and well worth the money. For a red car Victoria Wax concours is hard to look past, it's not expensive either.
Looking a bit of help on this one. I've just bought a Clio RS 200 in Ultra Red (get it in the next couple of weeks) and I feel it needs a spoiler to finish it off. From speaking to a sales man he said there are 3 available for the Clio but unfortunately couldn't show me any bar the GT spoiler...
Do you have a machine polisher or will you be working by hand?
If by hand one of the best polishes you can buy is G/techniq P1 used with one of their hand polishing pads you'll get excellent results. Colli 476s isn't a bad wax but can be hard to work with as it cures very very quickly and can...
Hello all, been a member of the site for a few weeks now and thought I'd introduce myself.
I've just placed a deposit on a rather tasty Clio RS 200 in Ultra red. It's a non cup car with the cup pack added, Recaros and climate control/air con (small digital screen in the middle of the dash)...
As has already been said before, cars can be replaced, people cannot. So as long as everybody is ok that's the main thing.
Blame is a hard thing to proportion esp in something like this. I'm guessing the police were called. Did they not comment on the lorry? Their definition states that...
