    Help- Engine doing weird stuff

Definatley sounds like from the cooling system. Plus if its brown it could do with a flush and topping back up again. Get underneath and sort it out. Failing that slap some radweld in there

How do I improve my handbrake

If your pads are fine, then you can simply tighten the cable going to the rear calipers. Jack the car up, and remove the heat sheild above the centre section of the exhaust, grab a 13mm spanner and tighten up to suit. Dont forget to do up the lock nut when done though. You dont even have to...

    Price for de-cat back

My Magnex system was cat-back and was in the region of 250 notes, going to get the de-cat pipeat around 50 notes so my sums tell me it should be about 300 all in. Using the back box might be tricky as the middle tube length could be different depending on which system. Do the de-cat for now...

    Adjustable top mounts

Just put in some eccentric cams where your lower strut mounts are. This way you can adjust your camber no problems without upsetting your suspension too much. As top mounts would alter the angle of the stut and spring, adjusting the lower mounts just alter the wheel in relation to ground level!!

handling setup and engine - Renault Talk.

Totally agree Nick, but thats taking it for granted that what Koni or any other manufacturer is doing is correct. What happens if you dont like it or want to adjust set up?? This is where you need to know what you are doing..stiffer not always means faster!! Plus its not only the shockers and...

    Filter HELP. BenR/Anders maybe

Need your e-mail buddy. When you e-mail me I can send you some back. Get hold of that Renault overhead photo of the engine bay, then you can use photoshop to sketch some ideas on top of it. Gives a good idea of scale and available room too!!

OK, pal. Now ive got most of the front end all modelled up pretty much, minus engine and some other bits like coil and power steering bottle etc.. How about doing a completely vacuum sealed induction track like a flask?? This way all air will be at ambient temp, or even put in a intercooler...

handling setup and engine - Renault Talk.

Yep should be ready to rock and roll straight out of the box. It should feel better agreed, but how do you know its the optimum?? You see thats where all the maths come into it. You can cater for yourself and do it how you like but manufactures have to do it for a millions of people around the...

handling setup and engine - Renault Talk.

I agree, most cars can be and are improved drastically, but you have to know what you are doing, it is not just a case of changing the springs. You need to also need understand what all the changes do and how they will affect the balance. As well as shocks/springs there is the anti-roll bars...

handling setup and engine - Renault Talk.

Most suspension systems on road cars are all roughly based on the Macpherson strut sytem, with one lower wishbone. I know some have double unequal length wishbones and stuff but generally just the one is regulation. Now because it is fixed and the chassis end and top strut end, the whole wheel...

    Tarox Brake pads..

Yeah fair point, but when you use them hard all the time everything gets a tad hot. Thats when good quality stuff wont let you down. A good solid pedal and brake feel no matter what the use!

Yeah some sketches will be fine, just bang on a few measurements so I know what kinda scale your after. A sketch showing how it is in relation to the engine and front end would be good too. I have the same basic car so If I need measurments I can take them from mine. Ask around the uni to see...

Demons do them cause I got some for the Impreza, but not sure about Clios. Why do you want them? Is it purely for the track?

tappy engine from cold on valver

Paul, In practice this is quite simple, you probably need to do some reading on the 4-stroke combustion process and include the basic theory of this in your report..always good to start from first principals. It then shows you know what you are on about. Trouble is with a final year report you...
