Bryony, if you shop around, you should be able to pick up a mk2 with low miles for sub 10 k easily. you have to consider that a new one in May this year was less than 11k ! Hope ya find one, auto trader is well worth a look..

Hi Bash, I have been reading this thread with interest. It would appear that you have ruled out obvious problems with the car, and yes, the contis are excellent - all round (imho) I would be very surprised if a build fault was causing any problems.. the usual ones are cosmetic, trim, or...
