A mate of mine has a GT, and these things have quite a bit or low down torque...about 145 and 3000rpms iirc...
We havent raced eachother yet down the pod, but im sure itll be close...round the twisties tho, down on paper the 172/Cup should be better, the only thing I hate mechanically about...

When I was lookin for insurance quotes about month back...quite a few companies said they wouldnt except the 10 bonus accelerator by elephant, as its not offically one years NCD...luckily Green Light beat Elephants quote anyways...
0-60 times between the Willy and Valver is not big - 0.3 sec or something...mostly down to the gearin iirc...and obviously the driver...
Thing is, Mid-range is where it really shows the difference...and the Willy will start to pull away...
Realistically ur lookin at High 7s low 8s 0-60 for a...
A mate of mine used to have a 106 GTI - bit of a nipper...
Not slating the GTI cos its a good hatch back, but the Willy in my opinion was far better drive all round...thus being more than just a change...
Right mine has seem to have stopped...
Thing is, when the car is running the clock aslo seem to work which is makin me think its not run by its own battery???
Can anyone share and light on this...if it runs from the car battery, why does it stop once the engine is off?
