I bought a set of 17 inch Superleggeras with an offset of 42 for my 172 ph1.
Just pushed them out with 5mm eibach spacers and longer bolts, it's made a real difference with an extra 10mm track so much that I'm tempeted to go for 10mm each side. I looks like there's space, anyone else done this?
Here's my set of OZ F1 about to go for £100 on ebay.
Get yourself a bargin if your quick

They are great looking wheels, There's a couple of light marks on the rim. I've taken a photo of the worst part for you to see.
One of the tyres is past the limit, the other 3 have around 2mm left. There was someone on here selling micheling pilot tyes yesterday.
I've currently got them...
You kow how tatty the ph1 wheels become. Anyone fitted an aftermarket wheels.
What did you do about the airbag? Any photos would be appreciated.
Cheers
It's lowered 30mm on with adjustable koni's.
These have an offset of ET42, so ive ordered a set of 5mm spacers which will put the wheels out a bit more and really fill the arches. Might go lower again after this.
Hi Vic,
The centre on a 172 ph1 is 60.1mm, you then need to measure the inner of the wheel. Type wheel spigots in ebay and you'll find the ones you need.
Can anyone tell me if the spigot rings in the centre of the wheel helps to hold the wheel on? or is it just a locating device?
The reason is I have fitted some 17" superleggeras to my car but the centre hole is around 70mm, there doesn't seem to be any problems but wondering if it's safe...
Got mine booked in for tomorrow at a Renault specialist
cam belt kit £123.60
alt belt £16.47
water pump £58.03
coolant £15.00
labour £259.60
vat 17.5% £83.00
total £556.00
Painful, but the peace of mind will be worth it.
Probably all bored with this repeated question, I'd really appreciate any advice.
Will 17" wheels fit a ph1 172 that's dropped 30mm okay?
Cheers for any help.
One of my favourite cars, I had a ph2 sallon to start off with then chaged it for the Ph1 hatchback. Very rare to see them around these days. Great handling is my main memory.
This off set thing confuses the hell out of me?
Surely if the higher the number the further away from the centre line the wheel is attached?
So do ET45 stick out 2mm further than ET 43?
Help?
Hi Fubar,
I've got a set of Trophys lined up, but they are miles away from me. I've booked my car in for the Cambelt etc next tuesday then gonna decide which wheels to go for. I hope to find superleggars if I can.
I'll be selling my Oz F1s if you're interested. I'll put some photos on here...
Hi Matt,
Yours is looking awesome too. I've got to find some. Where did you get yours from? Are they also 17" anthracites? Any problems with rubbing?
Cheers Chris.
