Which wheels stick out further - Confused!

This off set thing confuses the hell out of me?

Surely if the higher the number the further away from the centre line the wheel is attached?

So do ET45 stick out 2mm further than ET 43?

Help?

Think its backward, ET43s stick out more than ET45s I think. Could be wrong, all this alloy b****cks confuses me tbh.

nope, otherway round

ET45 is closer in than ET 43

its a measurement in mm from the centre line of the wheel to the hub face

Lower the offset ...the more it sticks out from the hub face
