Thanks mate :)
It's speeding up my polishing process massively. I'd have been a bit lost today with A15 tbh, as the next best thing was two sets of 203S, or 3.02 and PO85 afterwards. Really strange paint, but only time with a single stage polish.
Yeah defo, would have liked it for a few days. I'm going back in the week to do a few more bits I wasn't totally happy with, but it defo looks a lot better :)
Today saw me breathing a bit of life into this 17 year old Porsche 911 Carrera.
The car is owned by my mates Dad, who is selling it after 13 years of ownership, so wanted it sprucing up a bit, before its sale.
I'd seen the car a couple of times before, so new the paint was a bit neglected -...
Not true, you can't make sweeping statements like that.
How old is the BMW? Newer BMW's are using new clearcoat's, which cure over a 6 month period, so are initially very soft, and are never 'hard'.
E46's are generally 'harder' but never assume anything until you see, assess and test the...
Where did you buy yours from? Sounds like it's already been watered down to me!
I use it 1:5 and it foams up very well, with the right spray head.
Is your Smart Wheels purple or brown?
Vics won't bond to AFPP properly, given its uniquely slick polymers...
As for clay, stick to BH Soft, cut it into four and you have a very cost effective clay, with water as lube :)
3 layers of Vics lasts 3-4 months with ease, and is by far the best choice on red, if you can't stretch to RaceGlaze 55.
Werkstat Carnauba is a good choice too, but not massively durable.
What colour is your car? For lighter colours, I'd use Z8. On darker colours, I prefer Optimum Car Wax II
Both of these products, you spray on, spread with a MF, then buff. 5-10 mins per car, and great protection :)
The 'best' cleanser for me is Carlack 68NSC, which is reformulated version of the Jeffs but is a bit cheaper (from CYC).
Nothing cleans like this stuff, it's amazing how much crap you pull off seemingly clean paint, very potent chemical cleaning reaction.
Auto Finesse Rejuvenate should get a...
The RG towels are okay... but Autosmart sell the same towel in blue, 3 for £10. I think the cost price on these is something silly like 57p, but you have to buy 5000 at a time :)
They work well enough, but harden after a few washes and on some softer paints, will mark if 'dragged' across to...
I prefer SRP by DA, LP works best for me via Rotary.
Also, LP can fill too, and SRP does cut with the right pad, but less so than LP.
If you want to just clean your paint up a fair bit, then SRP via DA is a great choice. Just watch how much product you're using and alter quantity if you get...
I'll have a unit within a week or so mate so I'll be able to step my game up and do things 'properly' as it were.
I'm looking forward to my first proper 2 day correction. BM 3 Series in black qnd had a hard life... Should keep me busy
Cheers all
Gally you're right lol!!! Its given me the inspiration to do my own now at least :) Bloody German paint! No more one day'ers on ze German cars from now on
Wow, what a day! I left my house at 7:15 this morning, and got in at 21:00! I'm shattered! Luckily, I still have enough energy for a write up, so here goes...
Today saw me travel to a deceptively sunny (based on my BURN!) Rugby, to restore some life back into the paintwork of this VERY...
Hi Dave,
I used Menz 3.02 or S500 (Fast Gloss) on the isolated spots, but will be wet sanding these out once I've been on the KDS course. I used 203S from memory on the door handles, which breaks down quickly by hand :)
Davo... lol, thanks mate :)
I did this car a couple of weekends ago, on what must have been one of the windiest days of the year, so had to battle with constant debris falling from the over hanging tree! It was also the first VAG that I've attempted to correct 'in a day' and it's probably my last - with hard German paint...
Today saw me nervously travel to a not very sunny Wolverhampton, with my fingers firmly crossed that the rain would stay away, so that I could spend the day giving this beautiful GTI a bit of love.
As ever with lighter cars, the difference isn't as obvious as a swirly black car, especially...
Here you got mate:

Used 3.02... no need for refining if you do a few load speed passes after your cutting cycle
Iron X is definitely more potent than Decon Gel. I was a little disappointed in it when used on a Jag S-Type which I did last weekend. Iron-X seems to remove MUCH more first time...
Exactly, any decent polish, which finishes down well, should serve you well here.
Menz 203S or Scholl S17+ would be the best options IMO.
Look up the black Megane DCI I did (it's on here). I don't remember what I used, but the paint finish was totally transformed.
There's no way that Lime Prime would make Glasur 'fail'? It is a dedicated pre wax cleanser, that also happens to have decent correction abilities via machine, but a pre wax cleaner first.
If Glasur 'failed' then that's down to curing time, temperature or moisture - not the LP. It will cure...
