And here is the sequel:
Here am I in his, and he in my car:

So, as I was saying before - SOME Clio 197 drivers don't know how to drive their car fast.
I agree with both of you guys, when I first went on the dyno, I was so disappointed that I wanted to do the same thing - sue the fckrs.
BUT-as I wrote before, and alant1000 mentioned here:
Renault can always dispute the rollers precision. They probably measured the engine at the flywheel...
What about Clio 197?
2 of my friends have matched inlets and they claim there's no difference, especially noticable difference...
I was thinking about doing it anyway...but I don't want to throw 230 for nothing...
Look what a good tuned Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI does to my Clio 197, and my friends Clio 197 (he has: a decat, catcams, v6 airbox, matched inlets & a remap).

That are VERY optimistic results giving in mind that, for example, Kevo's 197 was 184bhp stock, and with all his mods he ended up with 200bhp (that's without the latest airbox setup).
Here is a good thread on the clio197.net where are some of the dyno results.
TNX 4 the advice, but you're a bit late...already got the Castrol TAF-X & skinned some weigth of my flywheel...now it weighs 5kg...unfortunately I didn't have the time to weigh it when stock.
It just proves that some of the owners don't know how to drive them. ;)
Mine 197 (Red): Miltek exhaust & cat, K&N panel filter, remap
Blue 197: Magnex exhaust & cat, K&N panel filter, matched & polished inlets, cup alloys

Looks cool but I was thinking about doing something like this:
The gold/red combination reminds me of my bike:
And my calipers are powder coated in red with the white decals:
I agree with the mentioned above.
Dyno figures can vary - why:
1. Different software
2. Different preload on the wheels
3. Different operator
4. Different ventilator
5. Different measuring methods (some measure the power in 4th gear, some in 5th gear)
6. Tyre pressure
7. Different temperature...
TNX m8!
But I envy you guys too - tuning parts are cheaper, much more available then here, the whole tuning scene is bigger, track days are cheaper (considering the price/income ratio)...;)
+1
Yes, the ESP comes on relatively late and I like it that, but when I'm racing ESP is always off.
You can notice the ESP cutting back the power when going from the rolling start in the third gear @ 3500rpm and then flooring it. It gives the car a shake back/forward...it happened to me a...
Clio 197 STOCK is faster than any Clio 1*2 STOCK in a drag race or on the track - I would say - especially on the track.
The Grobnik track:
Fastest Clio 172 that I know of: 1.56s
Fastest Clio 197 F1 that I know of: 1.53s
Both driven by amateurs.
The track.
P.S. I don't even need to mention...
