You can use the rear shims for toe or camber. Unfortunately in the op car the camber and toe are out. 30 minutes more toe in on the left rear is probably the best it can get. Ok for road. If I were to track that car I would be looking for a better solution. Possibly another rear beam
What was the rear toe and camber readings before you fitted the shim. Was it a 1 degree shim you fitted? If you have gone too far you could use a 0.5 degree shim
Saying that you have injector light on at the same time. As stated above make sure a good diagnostics reader is used. Some of those universal eobd readers won't pick all the codes up.
It's something to try. You will probably be at the limiter at the end of that straight. Really you gearbox should select 3rd still. But better to limit high rpm downshifts if you can. Maybe worth doing the oil as well.
There's a couple of corners at brands indy were it's borderline 3rd or 4th gear. I stay in 3rd. Going into 4th at those corners means you'll be changing back into 3rd at too high revs. Well if you want to look after the gearbox that is. Down cooper straight and through Surtees stay in 3rd.
A version 3 sti.(still got it) Also had a v2 sti, another v3sti and 2 v5 sti. And a couple of wrx's. Version 3 is the best of the classic stis. For me anyway.
I thought I'd say hello. Been here a week but only took pictures of my clio 182 today. She's a full fat but going on a diet.
There's a cliosport.net sticker already in there. Who's was this before?
There's 3 options.
1. Break that car up and buy a different one.
2.Do a proper job. Get the head off and do it properly (check the guides, valves etc). Take the pistons out also (you have the engine out already so won't be that hard) and check the pistons, bore and rings. If you don't do it...
