It only occurs if you just happen to spin the wheels at JUUST the rate which would cause the cars suspension to oscillate at its natural frequency. If you spun the wheels harder or indeed less hard, you may not/will...
your wheel locked, it wouldnt have with ABS, you could have simply stood on the pedal as hard as possible! and would have found it a lot easier to change direction whilst braking as hard as possible...

Arent the V6s gearboxes supposed to be a little uncharitable if you really snap your changes? and then need changing under warranty!?

To give my opinion/experience on the corsa 2.0 vs Clio argument, Id refer to my recent blat at the pod, I minced a 2.0 corsa who did a 15.1. I then watched a clio cup do a 14.7... which answers the question in my own mind.
