Id say the 172 would just have the legs on a cooper s. Not by much though as i can stick with a cooper s in the valver to just over a ton and a 172 pulls about 3 car lengths to a ton.
Ive had a few blasts with a cooper s in the valver. Up to a ton i was on his ass but not actually gaining on him. Never raced after a 100 but i reckon it might of pulled a little on me. Pretty quick motor for how heavy they are but without a charcher they are nothin
My best is 7.2 to 60 and 15.85 1/4@ 86mph with my g-tech.
I think ive had a slightly quicker 1/4 but cant remember it exactly.
Thats in my 1.8 16v with de-cat.
I pay £495 tpft on my 95 valver with performance direct. Ive never gone fully comp cuz i wouldnt claim if i smashed it anyway. Ive lost 2 years ncb before and it was a killer. My premium went up £300
