Re: **South East Meet 25th November**
Sorry Sarah, as Dunc says we can't make that date. We have an important family function that we don't want to miss. Can this possibly be re-arranged for maybe the weekend before? (Not the Saturday though). Pretty please?
Excellent pics folks. Dunc is going to love you for the ones of his Debs. :)
Was really good to meet some new people and catch up with the usual crowd. Brillaint meet. Top notch! :D
Sorry to hear about your rear light, but I know what you mean. I have lost count how many times in the past few months I have almost had my car written off for me, and yes, you've guessed it, by MALE drivers. Grrrrrrrr. lol
No, I don't think you are crazy at all. I'd have a Renault over a Vauxhall any day. Infact, I'm a Renault freak! (Or just a freak if you prefer). I think they are darn good value for money so, well done on your new purchase and hope you enjoy every minute of it. :)
Crikey, that's abit dodgy. Surely they should not have told you that? We all know how easy it is to track cars if you really want to. No wonder so many cars get nicked if that's how renault go on. That's a tad naughty to say the least!
Ok, agreed.
If he contacts Renault and gives them all the details of his car they will be able to tell him if it is an import or not.
My car does not show up on Renaults computers just by the Reg number alone, they need the VIN number and all the other darn numbers on the VIN plate to find...
I have dealt mainly with Direct Line and now we have all 3 cars with Admiral. Neither companies asked about alarms, they just asked if they had immobilisers. I even told Admiral that although my caris an import it now had a rather fancy cat 1 alarm. They said that didn't matter as it didn't...
Well I would hope that when most people buy a car, they ask what features it has. (Guys can be forgiven for not checking the hand manuals for this as we all know what guys are like with instructions). ;) Even my best friend who knows nothing about cars knows whether her car has an alarm or not.
We have never been asked about alarms, the question we have always been asked is 'Does the car have an immobiliser?' If he was asked if his car had both and he said 'yes' without checking, then that was a tad daft if you ask me. You can not always assume a car has everything you think it should...
Erm, I think you'll find as long as it has an immobiliser (sp) it doesn't matter, at least that's what any insurance company has ever asked me or Dunc about with our new cars. Dunc wasn't even asked if his R26 had an alarm, just interested in the immobiliser. I think I can safely say an R26 is...
That's bull, sorry, but it is. When I got my car from new it didn't have an alarm, I knew it was an import and told the insurance company so too. They were not bothered about the alarm as long as the car was a UK spec, which it was.
My 1.6 is an import but it has the window etchings, it just didn't come with an alarm or locking wheel nuts. (Has both now though).
I don't understand why so many people are that bothered by imports, they are all UK spec. If someone tries to knock you down on price just because it's an import...
Totally gutted for you. Was an absolute minter too. Bloody taxi drivers need shooting, they're a darn liabilty. Hope you get everything sorted out quickly.
I don't ever intend getting rid of mine. The only time she will go is when all she is fit for is the scrap yard, and that should hopefully be a good few years yet as she's only 4 years old.
I will be looking at getting the new Twingo in the next 18months or so (if it is what I expect it to...
Nice one Taylor. You do crack me up though, you seem to change your cars as often as the wind changes. As long as you're happy though, that's what counts. ;) :)
I reaaly feel for you, looks nasty. I bet it was some female with a 4x4 who was too busy yelling at her kids to notice your car. I hate women with 4x4's! I hope you get it sorted quickly with minimal cost. Poor car. :(
