Cheers.
Booked in at BTMperformance in brum tomorrow for belts/Dephaser. Might start a mini project thread...lots of bits to do to Make it my own, whilst keeping it looking and sounding near standard.
Must be the area - this was from the north east. Seen a few up there go for less than there worth. Think people from down south are daunted by the journey.
Been quite lucky really. Brought it blind, travelled 4 hrs on the train and a 3 1/2 hr drive home...as said above, it's almost spotless and other than belts, really needs nothing doing.
Plan is to keep it near standard, bar maybe the exhaust and some suspension. I do 14000 miles a year so will...
A few years back, I brought a 172 Cup off a mate and signed up here. Only kept it for a few months until our little girl was born when it was deemed too small for the buggy (even though she had a Scenic!). I was a bit gutted as it was immaculate and only had 50k under its belt.
Any way, picked...
I own the 47k one. If you want pics of the service book etc please let me know.
Alot of people go by the 72k for the cambelt change and ignore the 5 year bit, which is what my mate did (was told incorrectly by a garage!). I paid good money for the car, but within a day of joining this forum...
Bit of a Clio newbie - having owned 205/306 gti's upto now. I'm due to have the cambelt done soon on my 46k Clio 172 cup. Will the dephaser need changing at the same time as a precaution? And would it be sensible to change the water pump too considering the mileage?
Thanks.
Renault Dealers quoted me £770 + VAT for cambelt and aux belt changes on a CUP with no aircon. Gone to a few Renault specialists and Looking at £300 + VAT for the same. Ouch.
