    My new PH-RSi

Really nice car, the colour looks great. It looks like a very convincing 172 replica and it must be nice knowing it's costing you a lot less to insure than the real deal. Just out of interest how did you get on explaining what it was like over a standard RSi on the phone to the insurers...

    Looking At Next Car

Wize imo, I wouldnt pay an 'extra' £1200 just to insure a 172.. If you have your heart set on a clio find a garage and test drive a 1.6 to see if you like it. The performance isnt going to compair to a 172 but regardless they are brisk little cars and great allrounders, mine is fairly good on...

    Smeary Wax P*ssing me off

AG do a new auqua spray wax for about £10 a bottle which you use after drying the car. I've never used it but I rate AG products so I'd give it a whirl if I see it in a shop.

No one seem want to buy my RSi

Have a look on the parkers guide, it's not £1k over priced by that. Although it maybe slightly more than people want to pay. You could return the wheels and springs to standard and try again and make the difference up selling them on here? In real world terms what anyone else has paid for a...

My photoshop clio V6 creation, scifi style

I would consider it, when the commercial stuff I'm doing now winds down a bit. I'll let you know if I'm free in the future and see if you are still interested.

My photoshop clio V6 creation, scifi style

Here's a piece I did a while back, it's all painted in Photoshop from scratch, no sketch or line layers in a graphic novel style for my portfolio. It features the R-9 I mentioned (with the canopy) from R-type.

My photoshop clio V6 creation, scifi style

Cheers for the comments, The shell of the car is sectional (incase you are wondering how you get in and out) kind of like a jet fighter the cabin opens up and slides away, not safe or paracticle but..... I used the old Rtype / thunderforce ship as reference there (I love the design of the...

My photoshop clio V6 creation, scifi style

It seems quite a few people have been posting up their photoshop and clio based art so I figured I'd have a crack at a scifi style clio V6 and to draw a car is a welcome break from the dregs of design work I normally do, it's also been a while since I did any futuristic concept art. So...

    Started my own cleaning business!

Just a thought but you might want to look into insurance, it probably won't cost much if you stipulate that you wont be moving / driving the cars. The only reason I mention this is because I valeted some old geezers skanky old Jag years ago, with more deep scratches and patches of rust in it...

    washing car when it's raining

Yep washing when it's raining gets some funny looks but it's even more important in winter when they salt the roads.

    Ramps or axle stands?

Exactly what I did. On my last car I took the rear mudflaps off and was just able to reverse it up onto the ramps, then i jacked up the front to wire brush and underseal the whole underside. Ramps do make you feel a bit safer, but well placed axle stands should be safe so long as some numpty...

    Corsa or clio

Interesting. What areas would you say the corsa is WAY better? Perhaps on the 1.2 and 1.4 clio, as I havent had much experience with them so I cant really comment. On the 1.6 (which is what this thread is about) handeling, braking and performance are certainly not WAY better, I'd say the...

4 wheel drive on a clio

There are (were) a few companies around years ago who'd do sierra cosworth conversions in the fiesta which could be rwd or 4wd, I've actually seen a MK1 fiesta with a rwd conversion. Like it's been said you can do it but to do a nice job it'd be best to use Renault parts otherwize it's just a...

    Met black prep and spray?

It's a deal, it's a steal, it's saleofthefuckingcentury.... I'd be very suprised if anyone can do it for less. If he's good, I can say for certain that is a reasonable price. The body shop I used to work for would have charged over £2k for a prep and respray in the same colour.

Do you class 1*2s as "hothatches"

How could you forget the Renault 5 GT Turbo!! They define hot hatch imo.

    When can i own a sport ?

Got to say, it aint all about the price of the car and the general running cost but the reserve you need if something goes wrong. Recently the drive shafts have gone on my car and that is about £350 worth of work, it's a pain but at least I dont have to make the choice between having no car...

    Corsa or clio

I used to drive corsa (B's) daily in my job and even learned in one, so I have loads of fond memories of them. I convinced my mum to buy a 1.6 sport (C) for a run around which I later drove for a few months when I was without a car and loved it. My mate had a GSi in dark grey that looked and...

Do you class 1*2s as "hothatches"

It's a bit of a lable, how many bhp or fancy toys it has has little to do with it as far as I'm concerned. I think the clio 172 and 182 are hot hatches but I always smile when I hear about the new wave of hot 'hatches'. seeing as how most new hatch backs are like the size of oil tankers...

out comes the wallet :( new driveshaft?

Pass side Drive shaft is about £94+ vat from Renault with a £10 surcharge (they take the old one and re-con it) I've tried a few places other than Renault and the price difference is only about £20 cheaper, unless you get one second hand or get your mate to get one at trade price for you...
