Try Cit-Ren or something like that?
I bet you'd be able to get a second hand set off a car that's being broken for quite a bit less than a new set would cost.
True, but I guess the point I'm trying to make is that Iceberg is a gorgeous colour when clean. But you get the slightest bit of dirt on it and it doesn't look metallic anymore, it starts to look dull.
To make matters worse, I can never be bothered to clean mine so it looks permanently dull. :S
Wouldn't surprise me if the Clio couldn't drink their petrol either. American fuel is even lower octane than ours isn't it? As Jeremy Clarkson referred to it - "limp wristed fairy liquid".
I've toyed with this idea myself, using Photoshop to change the wheel colours to see what I like.
The only ones I found that I liked the look of were Anthracite and silver.
Personally I'd get a nice set of alloys that suit the car and keep them silver.
You don't HAVE to put an allen key in the top to hold it in place I don't think. I undid mine with the correct sized socket bit and a regular ratchet like you'd find in any socket set, and you can't use an allen key on it at the same time.
I don't know why there's an allen key hole at the top...
Eh?
You're not preventing scratching, you're just preventing it scratching?
I see what you're saying though. The snow foam brings as much of the loose dirt off as possible so that you've got less dirt to rub over the car with your wash mit? And the wash mit picks up the dirt and holds it...
In reality I can't see it preventing scratching. Not when you're rubbing the dirt all over your car with the sponge / sheepskin / swans feather / giant panda skin / unicorn hide wash mit (or whatever the detailing geeks use) anyway.
But then... what do I know?
Had a quote from Sky myself earlier. It was more than I expected but the last time I got a load of quotes together (out of interest) it was coming up a lot cheaper. It was a while ago though and prices increase all the time. I'll try the rest later / tomorrow.
Cheapest quote so far is £710 FC...
You'll struggle to find a bog standard 172 exhaust. They cost a fortune from Renault and they fall to bits after being on the car for a week. You can spend about half as much on a good stainless aftermarket system that's much better quality. Therefore, nobody with sense buys them.
You might be...
What's the big deal with it foaming anyway? What does foam do that makes the product better?
This is a genuine question. I've been reading the thread and don't understand what difference foam makes. I can still do my washing up perfectly fine when there aren't many bubbles in the sink, what...
I like the ride height at the rear but definitely agree that the front needs dropping a bit more (although I have no idea how this would affect the ride quality and whether it'd cause any rubbing). I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only Iceberg owner who can't be bothered to clean it every 5...
