Yeah I had a couple of standard Clio courtesy car. A 1.2 which was fairly frustrating but the 1.4 auto was really annoying.
The auto gear box just does its own thing, you put you foot down slightly whilst going round a corner and it drops a cog and tries to throw you into a hedge!!! :(
I will wash my Megane as many times a week as is needed. I park up on my drive and put a breathable cover on it. So it has to be clean for me to cover it and due to my work I don't get to drive it that often.
The Renault 5 is my daily drive and that will get washed weekly, inside and out...

I guess its all a learning curve!! Although I wouldn't fancy trying to stop a car at 135mph, no matter what car.
I've had the back end of my Megane go a bit light on me a couple of times. Its deceptive when you're going fast, purely due to it being very planted and quiet!! Dual carriageway...
I actually think they are pretty cool, worth doing as long as you haven't got Xenons!!!
But then again, on the right car I think clear tail lights actually look pretty cool. lol
Performance wise they are not comparable, the 172 is a fast little car where as the C2 is gonna be nippy.
The 172 has loads of features but I don't know if the C2 matches that.
Depending on how much you drive you won't find the 172 too bad to run. I used to cover about 150-200 miles per...
I'm looking forward to getting my Megane 225 out in this colder weather. Haven't been able to drive it for the last 3 weeks coz of my shifts at work. Its just been covered up on my drive!!! :(
My Renault 5 is a little bit interesting in the cold though, seems to judder a bit til its warmed...
You could try lighter fluid, as long as you don't leave it on the paintwork afterwards and give it a wash it will be fine!!!
Or you could heat the left over sticky crap with a hair dryer and roll it off with your fingers but I did that once and it blistered my fingers!! lol :D
I had a Clio 172 (2003) and put a Green induction kit on it. Certainly made a great noise and felt a lot tighter when I put the standard air box back on. Might not get a power gain but you will probably feel a little more response.
My missus 182 also has a Green kit on and it feels just as...
Just seems like a bit of a daft excercise. Either release a new version of a car of keep the old one, thats my opinion though. Or call the new car by a different name!!
I see where they are coming from with the whole price bracket thing of the new and old Clio but why not continue to produce...
Surely if they are still producing the 'old' shapes Clio that means a hands up from Renault that they might not have made such a bright move with the new one???
Either way that looks weird to me, the back of the MK3 Clio was actually pretty sweet as it was. The only good thing about it would...
I'm on T-mobile, I pay £35 a month and for that I get £180 worth of spending on texts and calls. I believe its the 'Flext' contracts they do and I've found them to be very reliable and you also get a text each week telling you how much you've got left to spend.
I'd quite happily say that I'm a keen driver but I wanted something nice and refined but bloody quick. The Megane ticks that box for me and I find it a really good drive.
The Clio V6 is totally different car and only one I'd buy if i could use it as a weekend toy. Its all down to personal...
Couldn't you just get a specific switch mounted somewhere on the dash to get them to switch on???
I'd have thought a whole new indicator stalk would be a pain in the butt!!
I'd personally stick with the 1.2 for a year or so, enjoy driving that and gaining driving experience then go for something more powerful.
I passed my test and had a 1.2 Clio (L reg) as my first car, then went for another Clio 1.2 (X reg) about a year and a half later. I'd been driving 4...
I would have thought to the average driver, the 225 is very easy to drive quickly. Turbo pulls hard in most gears so don't often need to go for a down change for overtaking etc.
Thats my thoughts, having owned a Megane 225 since January.
I would love to come up against a Clio v6 though...
Only thing you can do is to tell your insurers and ideally 'find' a witness!!
A witness who saw everything from outside the car exactly how it happened. If you know what I mean, wink wink, nudge nudge. Obviously they have to be totally independant!! ;)
Xenons have almost a magnifying lense in the cluster.
Also as you switch the lights on they will self level, so you'll see the beam actually move up. I'm sure normal headlights don't do that. :D
There are some extremely careless t*ssers out there!!
I will never actually take my 225 to a car park and even if I take my old Renault 5 I try and find as big a space as possible. :(
Have to say Renault Croydon haven't been as ignorant as some of the places mentioned.
Only thing I've found is that the salesment talk out of their a*ses!! Had one of them tell me that the Clio 172 was almost 'motorbike quick'!! Like it does 0-60 in 3 seconds or something.
Another one...
I wouldn't worry about the MPG as it may have been sat there just running, which would give you a lot lower MPG. My Megane will sit there in traffice and the MPG will drop right down just coz I'm not moving.
I'd have a moan about the state of your boot though mate, they should have taken...
can someone, in very simple terms explain to me what one of these is???
I know my old Clio 1.2 used to have one and I'm sure my Renault 5 has one.
If you want to lower a car with a torsion bar, you replace the front springs and adjust he rear torsion bar accordingly????
Any advice...
I've been reading about the possibility of a Megane 230 on MeganeSport.net. The only worthwhile change if they do make a 230 is the limited slip diff they have planned.
To be honest though, a re-mapped Megane 225 is gonna be as quick anyway. Also, most of the Euro 4 engined (later 2005...
Right, I took the gay 'Prima' stickers off the side of the five but as you can imagine, having been on the car for 11 years the paint undernearth is a bit darker than the rest.
Its not very noticable and probably me being a bit sad but anyone know how I can get the paint round where the...
Cheers Chewy, I really appreciate all the info guys!!
I'm hoping to look at the wheels at the weekend. They guy is selling for £120 with tyres but one tyre has a slow puncture. The only thing about them is that I'm gonna need to get all 4 powder coated as they're currently orange!!! lol
I...
