A coilover damper carries the suspension spring as well around the outside of the damper hence coil over damper.
A shortened damper is just that - a damper which is shorter than the OE item.

Hence why there's a fully built development car racking up miles around the North of England at the moment............
Not sure what July has to do with it though? Once the cal is validated and signed off then its done.

Well its not hard to guess what spec charger is on it and data is freely available for delivered air mass at input RPM and compressor RPM. You know what power it is making hence you should be able to work out what boost its running pretty easily ;-)
Think the plan is to run RST's car at...
That 12K is to hire the car for the season excluding labour charges.
It's worth noting that with a few knocks, repairs etc. you could well be looking at 500 - 1000 quids worth of labour per weekend if you're one to get stuck in.
Still its a pretty decent price. Cheaper than me! LOL

Yep its running (very well) on the stock ECU - hence the amount of work that is going into validating the calibration.
And Barron - stick em up on the bulkhead just don't kick the fuse box ;-)

The other one has bells on it if you'd like to pull that?
The difference in torque and curve shape between a 182 and 172 is minimal enough to prove the point. Just look at the peak values and the RPM they are achieved at on the 172 and 182 - pretty much identical torque values with 150RPM...
I drove the RST car with the AWT Supercharger kit (as featured in PFC magazine and driven by their staff) just before Xmas.
In Jan I was at RST and watched it put down 296bhp on the rollers.
The car is up, running, driving about daily and undergoing cal validation.
I'm just giving a...
As far as I know the kit is done, design signed off etc. etc. at the moment its in cal validation which is a part not worth rushing IMHO as that's got to be correct!

There's no point to it what so ever. The 4-1 on the 172 is better for 'top end' power. The 4-2-1 is purely to increase mid-range torque at the expense of some top end power. Fine if you drive it like a diesel. Not so fine if you're planning on paying for it to create power.

We've used Silkolene from Opie in our endurance F4R's - when the engines come apart they are still clean, shiny and with a basic refresh ready to go again.

Don't worry I will. Will start a full thread with pics and info once the prototype is done and a car is running with it. That way I can provide details on gains, dyno plots etc. etc.
Oh and I'm not joking about the S2000 Touring Car thing, S2000 regs dictate use of a single throttle body...
Its a short runner, direct path inlet manifold setup with proper air horns integrated into the plenum base for flow and velocity benefits. It uses the standard DBW throttle body with associated benefits i.e. can retain the standard ECU, TCS system, Cruise Control etc. etc.
Essentialy its a...
Don't think so due to the different upright design but you'd need to check the parts database to be sure. The rack might be the same with different arms/ball joints.

The gearbox on the Clio is splash lubricated - it's not an F1 car ;-)
It's going to be a weak synchro. The viscosity of the oil will change as it gets hotter leading to the problem being noticeable but the base cause is a weak synchro.
Stick some different oil in it and you might get it to...
8 year old RV8 TVR's are more reliable than brand new Mondeos in my experience. I ran both side by side whilst putting more miles on the TVR. At one point I was using the Tiv to chase development cars around BPG.
Chims and Grifs are so simple you can take them apart with a 13mm spanner and a...
Apart from "heel and toe" and "Double declutching" are two entirely seperate techniques. The former is of great use on any synchro box to ease loads on the synchros and retain car balance during a downchange. The latter is used for boxes with no synchromesh i.e. crash type boxes to allow a...
MBE is also well worth looking at. 992 or the upgraded version of it 94A will run a Clio no problem at all, has single CAN bus, simple VVT control, is fully weather sealed so can live in the engine bay etc. etc. It's what Caterham use to run the Cosworth Duratecs in the CSR 7's.
Available...
I had a PPP 53 plate WRX before my Cup,
It lasted two weeks until I was fookin' sick of the too heavy, boring, sluggish POS. Used an obscene amount of fuel for a slow car as well.
Flogged it and picked up a cheap Clio Cup. That was 4 months ago!

Bazzon - Just in the process of prepping a genuine sub 15K mile 182 engine to go into my Cup for testing mate............ if only you'd have got in before ;-)
For use on the standard ECU I always recommend 428's, they're well proven, provide good gains, work with the standard valve train and...
AWT and I have a rather tidy inlet manifold upgrade kit on the way. That should sort things out for you. Based on past experience it should provide an essentialy flat torque curve on the standard engine with a very good increase in power.
Costs will be similar when you factor in cost of cams...
AWT/RST Have a car in testing at the moment which is going through cal validation at the moment. It's up, running and fecking quick. I had the pleasure of driving it a few weeks ago. It's exactly like a massive naturaly aspirated engine, pulls from idle in any gear and just ramps up as the revs...
Gutted to hear some people have bent cars.
Drove the Cup in this morning (complete with bodged Alt mount). No problems at all, fair bit of opposite on during the journey in but nothing major - mind you a lot less snow in Cambs then elsewhere!
Stay safe all!

That's about right for a 400, circa 200ftlbs of torque to go with it usualy.
Thing is they weigh in at 1060KG's, if you dump the spare wheel and take the roof off it drops to 1030KGs. An S2000 weighs in at 1250 - 1300 depending on spec, hence even the most base spec Chim is 10bhp up in power...
