    fuel rail cover removing

Probably worth checking your engine mounts then chap! As something is putting a load on the rail guard! Cheers M

    replacing tappets cost?

Cam cover/upper cam bearing carrier has to come off which means cam belt off, cams out etc. etc. Not difficult but not for the faint hearted and you need the tools to do it. Cheers M

    Mean S2000

The difference is one sounds like distant artillery, will go sideways off idle and creates more torque than the other at 2000RPM - the other is a Honda. TVR dated? That's sort of the point ;-) Cheers M

    replacing tappets cost?

I've got eight brand new ones that aren't needed. £50 and they're yours. That should be enough to swap out any iffy ones. Cheers M

    cheap toyos?

I use Toyos as road tyres on most things. T1-R usualy but have just moved the 4's - they're on my Cup at the moment. No complaints at all, perfectly decent road tyre. Cheers M

    Compomotive Mo's

They're heavy as they were designed for rally use where strength tends to come in front of weight. Very good wheels but certainly not lightweight. Cheers M

    Mean S2000

The Honda S2000 - when you aren't quite hetrosexual enough for a TVR Chimaera ;-) Cheers M

    How easy is it to.....

Pick it up from the lower front bumper/splitter area and use deflectors on the inner arch to move the flow in the right direction over the brakes. It's not ideal but its easy to do on the road car. Ideal solution would be a setup partialy surrounding the disc itself which is fed directly from...

    Newman Performance Camshafts

Speak to Mark at Jam Sport aka Broster. He deals with Newman on a fairly regular basis including F4R cams. Cheers M

The RS lettering is in the casting on the lower inlet manifold on the rad side of the runners in big letters. Cheers M

    Engine mods

Sorry but I'm not going to post guestimates. It's just not worth it as its not actually any use to anyone! It will be a very positive improvement but I'll only post figures when I can post the before and after graphs to go along with them. Otherwise its just speculation. Ben has the prototype...

    Engine mods

Yep the throttle body will be at the front of the bay. Allowing an open element air filter or air box to be located in the part of the bay with the best ambient airfeed and the coolest ambient temperatures with a direct feed from filter into the throttle body, again to minimise any losses...

    Engine mods

Similar to ITB's? Nope - the cost will be no where near what an ITB setup will cost. You don't need an aftermarket ECU, or a wiring loom, you retain all the standard sensors and its about 1/3 the time to fit + you don't need to change rads or cut the car. The gains won't be as high as what an...

    clio mk3 ph2 ????

Oh FFS I'm going to have to buy the face lift kit X 2 now for the X85's or they'll look old.......... Still got two useable bumpers and four headlights as well. :-( Cheers M

    Engine mods

Might well do to see what is required for a cable TB car as this has specificaly been a DBW prototyping excersise so far. To clarify this will be essentialy a direct bolt on to any 1*2, FF/Aircon equiped or Cup. Sensors will be relocated on the plenum but PNP loom extensions will be included...

    Engine mods

Short runner direct path inlet manifold is the much more cost effective alternative to ITB's as it allows you to retain the standard ECU and wiring loom along with traction control, cruise control and the DBW throttle body. As the standard ECU is retained cold start is also as per standard...

    Is 94K on a 172 too high?

I paid less than that for my Cup - in good all round nick, 93K, history, no accident repairs, recent brakes and bushes etc. etc. There are bargains out there if you look hard enough. Cheers M

    Uprated engine mount goodies??

The Kangoo mount is still going strong BTW - engine feels well restrained with the standard dogbone and wasn't flapping about that much on the dyno. Cheers M

PM me prices for some Bilsteins then ;-) Cheers M

Quickie: What's the most negative camber you can get with stock bolts?

Depends how long you take the round file to the upper strut mounting bolt hole for ;-) Camber on the standard setup isn't adjustable. Cheers M

    Bilstein - price changes

Yep its happening on every component coming over from Europe. Clio Cup spares prices are going up next, CATCams have increase circa 120quid on Retail. I'm trying not to think that I ought to stick £2K into bits for my Clio now to avoid the increases ;-) Cheers M

Will Meggy 225 alloys fit on a 182 no cup?

Yep strange offset as a result of the front suspension setup and to clear the brakes. It's also 5 stud so realisticaly no change of getting them onto a 182. Cheers M

    Cup racer rear suspention

Relax, I'm on the motherf**ker, I'm sending the Wolf ;-) Will bell you tomorrow. Not got a Cup cage have you? Been piecing together a Mk2 spares package and the one bit the chap was really desperate for I appear to now have wrong LOL Going to have to measure it up - probably a cocking Logan...

    Cup racer rear suspention

Top of the shock same as an X85 cage. It's also got gusseted diaganols on the rear section and from memory I think some slightly different PAS side intrusion protection. Hence why I've suddenly twigged it might be an S1600 cage........... can I tempt you with a different cage? Do you a swap...

    Cup racer rear suspention

I've got a Matter cage that's not a Clio cup cage then. Bugger - does anyone want a Mk2 cage? Might be an S1600 one but will need to get RS Competition book out tomorrow and check. "don't mean to butt in mate but the rear of the car is bolted to the wheel arch rather than the top of the damper...

    Cup racer rear suspention

Nope you've lost me. If you mean the rear beam then it has two primary pivot points under the car which are mounted with either compliant bushes or spherical bearings (either of which allow an amount of movement/deflection between beam and shell). The spring and damper on the road car are a...
