My experience has always been pretty poor with VM's of any nature.. Dunno why, but they just never seem to perform? Physical hardware FTW TBQFH. I think if I had a proper infrastructure, with SAN etc, it may be different.. So, if you do go down that route, really invest in the infrastructure!

Yep, cus' it's bundled in support etc. Symantec for example sell support as a seperate entity.. Sophos is just one price for the lot.

You need to get multiroom, if you want to use another Sky box. If you don't.. just get a video sender from the main box. You've wasted your money getting a new LNB etc if you don't wanna pay £10 ;)

The sticker which on the front of a new box, and from speaking to Sky directly after things not working suggest you are NOT supposed to let the engineer leave without everything working. So either they're blowing smoke up our ass and trying to pass blame, or you're not reading the same install...

I phoned Sky because the engineer didn't get HD/Premium Channels working on the new box, and the bloke did it whilst I was on the phone - took 4/5 seconds from him enabling it. The engineer used the excuse of 4 hours, but he obviously wanted to leg it quickly.

Yea, I've only ever seen a quad LNB from Sky on their mini dish.

4 is standard quad LNB, apparently you can get 8 output and 16 output LNB's also.. not sure if Sky supply tho? Can't see why they wouldn't.

The contention (how many VPSs per server) is important. Overall specification of server, and also what allowance you have. I've seen hosts offer all sorts of nonsense.

£5 a month for similar through Sky Talk - and then you also get free call up to an hour international (including America). AND, you don't have to put up with Skype :p
