I am waiting for some Eibach Sportline springs to arrive from somebody on here, when they are fitted will I need to have a wheel alignment done? If so, anybody recommend anywhere decent in or around Exeter in Devon? Will I need camber bolts or shims? My main use is hillclimbing. Cheers guys.
OK, BTB exhaust & modified Ph1 cat (cat sent was single not twin sensor) fitted yesterday. Picked the car up this morning & not really in love with the sound but its not bad. All I can say is that my old exhaust must have been really really shagged as the performance is on a different level...
@ Floodie - thats the main reason I chose the BTB, that & the difficulty sourcing a Yozza. Like you, I think I'm getting on a bit so loud & proud ain't my style!
I hillclimb my 172 Cup with T1-Rs & it seems to be competitive enough for standard road tyres - I did loads of research before fitting them & think I made the right choice
Sorry if this has been covered before but I would like to run R888s on my 172 Cup which currently has 195/45/16's on the original Turinis but R888s aren't available in this size (nor are Kumhos or Yokos). Seems I have 2 options, buy a 2nd set of (15") rims & fit 195 50 15 R888s or stick with...
Get my new S/S BTB Stealth exhaust fitted to my 172 Cup on Tuesday, also getting a Ph1 Cat fitted at the same time, will I notice any performance increase? My exhaust is knackered & my Cat is blowing so I'm hoping I will! Didn't want a loud system hence the BTB.
had my knackered dogbone mount replaced with a Powerflex one, can't say I noticed if it made it any worse but then 172 Cups aren't exactly known for their refinement anyway are they!
nothing wrong with T1-Rs - I hillclimb with them & set reasonable times in the wet & dry & they seem to be lasting OK - paid about £61 per corner for them fitted & balanced
IF you decide to pay the bill to recover your car make sure you write 'paid under protest' on it, it might help should it end up going legal which it looks like its going to. Good luck fella, feel sorry for you.
my 172 Cup is a road going hillclimb car & I want to upgrade the suspension to make it a little more competitive on track, am I best using Eibach springs & maybe Bilstein dampers or going straight to coilovers? If coilovers, which ones? Like most people, budget is an issue so I would rather not...
hi all, what do I need to remove the standard head unit from my 2002 Clio 172 Cup? I'm guessing its just a 2 pronged tool thats pushes in & releases the spring clips or similar? Where would I get one from? Also, is the brightness of the clock unit/radio display adjustable as mine is really dim &...
spoke to a chap who used to own a Trophy & he used spacers/washers to bring his pedals closer together as Clios are very difficult to heel & toe as standard
My throttle body & TDC Sensor have both been cleaned recently, its also had new plugs & leads yet my 172 Cup pulled the 'I'm not starting' stunt on me when I left work last night. After a few attempts I turned the ignition off for maybe 30secs & tried again - started 1st time! Will see what...
got 195 45 16 T1-Rs on my 172 Cup - set quick enough times hillclimbing in the wet or dry - only got them on the front though as it has original Contis on the rear still
drove a 360 round Silverstone South Circuit a couple of years ago & was surprised at how heavy it felt, slid around quite a lot too. Was surprised to win fastest driver of our group so there must have been some muppets there! Being paddleshift deffo made life easier on track but WHY would you...
