Fair play, sounds like some good customer service at Renault Bolton !
My Renault dealer washes my car when it goes in for any work to be done, only the outside tho and they are always very helpful.
I get to drive my missus 106 XND (1.5 diesel) which soon makes me realise exactly how quick the 172 is compared to a lot of other cars around !
Definitely makes me appreciate it more. I went from a 1.3 Ford Ka to a 172 in February ! nuff said !
When I bought my first 172, I drove it all the way home under 4000rpm when running it in and managed around 45mpg on a 200 mile trip ! Think that is the first and last time I have seen 40mpg on my 172 computer !
:devilish:
Very nice ! The only thing that puts me off that colour is that it looks very similar to a Cup and I would want it to look a little different.
Just wish the Yellow wasnt such a rip off !
Enjoy your purchase, no doubt you will ! Make sure you get some photos up when you get it with your big...
I have a MKII 172 mate, I have plenty of pics :

As you can tell I dont know and I dont pretend to know anything about the workings of an engine, all I know is that the new ECU does something to make the car go faster ! LOL !
What does it do then ? Just for future reference ? Does it increase BHP/torque ?
Eibachs on the 172/182/Cup will give you an EXTRA 10-15mm drop. The suspension is already lowered on these models so if you were to lower say a Dynamique then you may get the -30mm drop which is where that measurement may come from ?
Personally I am very impressed and happy with the ride...
Mike has an 02 172 which does not have TC, could it be the ABS that is causing it to idle higher than it should ? Surely it should have been mentioned when fitting ?
Good question Jay, I am not sure if ayone else has it for the 172, not read anybody who has it done.
Maybe a call to Hill Power 2moro will help answer that question Mike ?
telford_mikes with Eibach Pro-Kit springs and 17" MM HT3s :

The 172 kit also fits all models except the 1.2 IIRC. Check out the fitment chart from the Eibach website below :

15mm seems small but because the springs are stiffer there is less body roll thru the corners to allow you...
A lot of people on here have gone for the Eibach Pro-Kit springs which lower the car around 10-15mm all round but it makes all the difference to the handling. I am very impressed with the results.
They are around £120 from Demon Tweeks or K-Tec.
