Ha, I'm a bit of an MF fanboy to be honest.
I also use a MF waffle weave towel (from Pakshak I think) to dry.
That's why I didn't comment on the OP's choice of towel. I have got some, but I hardly ever use them.
What's you experience of mf vs towel for drying?
Chris
Showing your age dude. Most of the kiddies on here weren't even born when it was called Optimax.
+1 for the rest of the post though.
Chris
Edit: IMHO, most people (myself included) would almost certainly be better off getting a pro to do a correction detail and then putting effort into...
Hi,
Those should be fine. Get yourself a couple of buckets and before you know it you'll be as OCD as everyone else in here :D.
The Megs Gold class shampoo has lovely foamy rich suds, and does a great job of cleaning.
I've never used the Lambswool mitt, but I do use their microfibre one which...
Hi Rob,
I'm up for a meet at the Vauxhall at Tonbridge - I drive past it every night on the way home. :)
Also the Moat at Wrotham is pretty easy access too from M20 & M25 and does good food. Corrado club and Porsche club both meet there.
Chris
Hi Mike,
What a fantastic 50/50 at the start! Great job.
Having had a string of 90's red cars I suffered with this a lot, although I'm surprised to see it on a 53 plate, which I'd expect to have a 2 layer base / clear paint.
Once you've done the whole car, you'll want to stop it from...
Another top job Jim,
Great to see these posts. Why do you think the paint was so thin? Has it seen a lot of polishing, or do you think it was like that out of the factory?
Chris
I paid just over £700 for a cambelt & aux belt change + a full service at a local specialist a couple of months ago.
I was more than happy with that price considering their expertise, the quality of the work that they did and the great service I got.
Chris
I didn't find that at all. Here's a pic. There's a full kit on that car with pieces on the wings / bonnet / bumper / rear arch.
In my experience, stone chips are much more visible & annoying, but maybe that's just me?
I put an armourfend kit on my Corrado after it was resprayed. Once on, I hardly ever noticed it and it really did help to fend off stone chips.
's not so good at fending off gateposts though. :banghead:
Agreed, but I'd be surprised if snowfoam and a pressure wash wasn't up to the task of removing 24hours worth. How dirty can it get between washes if you're doing it 5 days a week?
Right, and what's the number plate on your vee Magpie?
I thought I was bad but 4 or 5 times a week is more than I can be bothered with on a daily driver.
If I was washing that often, I'd be snowfoam-ing. Faster than 2BM and touchless too.
Yeah, that's cool.
I was going to use my iPod 4g, which is kinda redundant now I use my iPhone as a portable player. Matt from MT has been very patient explaining what bit's and bobs I need.
My main concern now is fitting it. The iPod's probably going to live in the car, so I'd rather have it...
Hi all, I'm thinking of getting the passport / connects2 combo, so that I can hook my iPod up to the standard head unit.
I was just wondering if anyone's got pics of the finished installation and/or any tips on making it look as stock as possible.
Thanks
Chris
Oh, nuts.
I drive past the Vauxhall just after 7:30 every night on my way home, and I've only just found this thread.
Hope it happens again soon.
Chris.
Yeah, sure. It's a daily driver, not destined for Pebble Beach :)
If I can get better with the DA, get a bit more correction, and then fill anything I can't get rid of, that's fine with me.
For my car I have a rule that if I can't see the imperfection from about 2 feet, that's good enough. At...
I've got a PC & some Sonus pads, Megs polishes etc. and I'm trying to find more time to practice.
I did my Clio at the weekend, but I'm not that happy with the results. Gloss improved all over, but I felt that DACP on a Sonus DAS Orange wasn't giving me the correction I was after. It felt like...
Hi all,
just wondering what people are using at the moment as a glaze, and what you'd recommend for my metallic black Clio?
Compared to the fleck in the black paint of the Discovery, the fleck in the Clio's paint seems quite small, so anything that will help give it a bit of pop would be...
