Basically, I swapped both clips out today (even though only one needed doing) and repacked the boots with some Comma CV/moly grease.
But I'm unsure as to how far the rubber boot comes 'back on' before applying the clip? I put both new clips back on to the same position as the originals, but...
Reclipping the CV boot clips tomorrow on mine after noticing the tell-tale spots of pea-juice on the inside of one of the rims.
Is moly-grease something easily available to pickup? Or could I use an alternative?
I'd rather repack the boot(s) with some more grease before putting a new clip...
.....minus Edward Woodward, of course. ;)
Proper cheesey. But the last time I jet washed my car after work, the wash-booth was heavy with spray and the headlights were on my car. Looked really good from certain angles - probably helped with the blue-white effect of the xenons.
Even if...
Was down there again Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Parked the works motor on the multi-story connected to the Premier Inn Central - and these two were next to each other.
Following morning, just the arctic 182 was there. Think it was an '05 plate?

I don't know much about the standard 182 stereo, so which cable would I need to connect it to an iPod? I take it that it would involve ejecting the unit out itself and then connecting the cable to the rear?
Does the cable simply connect to the earphone connector of the iPod, or does it have the...
Chaps,
Does anyone know if the 2007 version of Excel allows the number of rows to exceed 65k+ now?
65,000 rows isn't enough to calculate my CS wages..... ;)

Got a works laptop in dual-boot. First partition with standard XP32 and the other half of the drive with Ubuntu x64. Laptop has a Turion64 X2 CPU and 2GB of mmory onboard.
Flies along with XP, but it's dog-slow with Ubuntu. There are 180+ updates to apply (I'm running v8.10 btw) but it hangs...
Would have been about 3.30pm this afternoon. After travelling all the way from Blackburn to Hemel Hempstead and back today, it was the only RS I saw. Lol!

Chaps, I was hoping for some ideas or suggestions as to what a noise could be on my 182.
Basically, at idle, the car makes a tappety noise. It's more noticable in the car than under the bonnet, tbh. I've never really bothered with it much as you have to focus your hearing to hear it in the...
Still being a newbie to the open source mob, I'm a little bit stuck. :)
Basically, I've got a PC with three HDDs which I want to setup the following with...
1x 500GB for use in a Windows XP SP2 RAID
1x 500GB for use in a Windows XP SP2 RAID
1x 160 for use with UbuntuBasically, I've got the...
....the one with PC World and Sainsburys on it.
Noticed it as I was leaving looking decidedly clean. RB owners do seem to take pride in their powder-blue motors!

Chaps,
Just needed to extract some details from an old Nokia phone and shove them onto a Blackberry device. As you're well aware, Nokia phones store them as .nbu files that aren't really flexible for imports into other phones.
I've tried this link - which extracts the contacts in the .nbu...
Followed this, this afternoon. Looked really tidy on the back of the trailer. Maybe had some bodywork done or going to a new lucky owner? ;)
It also had '172 Cup' written in black text where the Trophies have 'Trophy' on the back end of the side cill.
D.
"The 197 Cup really is a great car, but the Trophy is a brilliant one."
Anyone else agree with this? I'd really like to hear of Trophy owners who have switched to the 197 Cup (or maybe vice versa?) Which one is/was better to drive? Lee - where are you?
Not arsed in the slightest about...
Set off before 7am this morning in fog, thinking that the Saturday traffic around Leeds would be bad. It wasn't, thankfully - but the fog didn't ease up!
Both me and my m8 Steve were doing a rally session today. A great learning experience and would happily do another. My 182 felt like a...
I'd guess the answer should be yes - but looking at my front top mounts, I've got a little more thread showing on the driver's side than on the passenger side.
Should they be even? Anyone got any pics for me to compare?
The passenger side top mount rubber seems to compress a bit under...
....I've had a proper go at using climate control.
And I'm still really struggling to see what the benefit of it is? :S It's cold now, so whacked it to 24C and hit Auto. Sure enough, the fans kick in as it tries like mad to warm up the cabin quickly.
After a few minutes, it drops the fan...
....letting me out into traffic on Rochdale Old Road - when about twenty other cnuts in their cars wouldn't!
Cheers m8 . Seen your car a few times now, but I don't think you're on here. Would really like to know what exhaust system you have on there...

...earlier this morning. I was in a work's Focus when I spotted the Exclusive the opposite side of the roundabout. You went up Haslingden Road towards Rawtenstall.
The 172 looked very tidy. Certainly not many of those about in that dark green colour! :approve:

Further to the thread....

...I will never, ever darken the area of my front suspension ever again! Its taken the best part of 2 days to get both front shocks swapped out - though admitedly, the 2nd shock only took around 3 hours - lol...
Right. I will happily hold my hand up here and be flamed, but how the FCUKING HELL do you get the top bolt loosened on the top of the front shocks? :S.
The hex head is 6mm with the nut below it 21mm, but for the love of god, I cannot get the b******s to slacken off. Even when drenched in...
